I've seen coaches do that a million times before at just about every level. If you think that's bad, you represent the softest of Americans.

#62 either should have been paying attention or Dooley was firing him up.... If a coach can't slap the side of a kids helmet let's just go ahead and ban football

Who hasn't had their helmet almost knocked off in football. All I saw in that video was football nothing out of the ordinary. I had a coach who perfected the fask mask I swear he could grab ya 5 yards away.

What Leavitt supposedly did was strike a player in the face no helmet in the locker room. There's a whole world of difference there.

Helmet slapping by a coach is pretty much harmless, especially with those 20 pound college helmets they're wearing. He was trying to get him to focus or (more than likely, I suspect) get him fired up.

I imagine that slap hurt the coach's hand a lot more that it did the player's head. Might have hurt the player's feelings though. Better fire him.
