Vols Bar Brawl Investigation to last several days!

[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5378061"]Gary Russell claims he was attacked, beaten by Tennessee players Montori Hughes, Denarius Moore - ESPN[/ame]

This is getting worse for Tennessee. It seems Dooley's troubles with the players are not nearly over. He certainly has his work cut out for him.

Morton said his bar does have a video surveillance system but that when he went to check the tape the morning after the brawl, he realized there must have been a power surge a few days earlier and that the tape hadn't been running for two days.

Funny how that happens...

For those of us who do not know, Fulmer Cup? Number of arrests?

There is some speculation or chatter that the officer was hurt from being punched and slammed to the ground and not kicked.

I don't know what the officer's account of things are.

I think there could still be some game suspensions that are handed out.

The reality is at this point and I know it's the last thing that anyone wants to hear, but no one really knows what is going to happen.

I think its going to be hard to charge anyone else with anything for the fight inside the bar.

And I am not sure if there is enough evidence for the fight outside the bar unless the off-duty officer has some.

That writer appears to be saying that the moral of the story is if you are a UT football player and you get in a fight, be sure to beat them so badly that they can't remember what happened. Because no one is going to tell the police that a specific Vol player was involved. Sheesh.

Hopefully some of the good people in K-ville will step up and tell the the police what & who they saw. The next time (and there will be a next time) one of these guys hurt someone it may be them or someone they care about.

Read the article I linked, the one guy they beat up is still a "fan." Remember the victims of the attempted robbery wanted the players to still play "it's UT that stuff happens" was the response.

Of course we can't cast any stones. I remember quite a few posters on here blaming some of our troubles a few years ago on the police and "boys will be boys."

I for one hope the good people of Knoxville will step up and turn in all those players involved in the fracas and perhaps a few that weren't! ;) It's high time the Fulmer Cup returns to the SEC! Alabama did their part in 2008, now those dang yankees in Minnesota are leading the way. What kind of numbskulls are they recruiting up there, perhaps they have 2 Ellis T. Jones III types on their roster? With one good police sweep over this bar fight I'm confident UT can take the lead. If not, one can only hope for a pirated digital media raid (figured that was better than an ATF raid) on an athletic dorm! :D

Ps if you don't enjoy sarcasm ignore this post!

Pps from the Fulmer Cup link on page 1. "In order to be eligible to win the Fulmer cup, a school must have more than one player charged. In other words, a school may not win the cup on the basis of a single player's criminal record. This is known as the Ellis T. Jones III rule, after the San Jose State wide receiver who in 2006 was charged with 13 felony counts, including robbery, assault, and kidnapping; accumulating 31 points."
