I was just watching the game again and wanted to give some props to Gilberry for that TD saving tackle w/ about 6 min to go in the half. On the replay you can see that Gilberry is in the QB's face when he dumps the ball off to the RB. He turns around and chases the guy down about 25 - 30 yards down field, dives head first, and just does trip the guy up. That RB was headed for paydirt and that would have made it a 28 - 10 ballgame. That very well could have been a game saving tackle IMO. It just goes to show that it pays to hustle and never give up on a play. I love to see that in our players.

That was the real play of the game

If they score there I feel that the game would probably have been over. I just do not think we would have come from that far back. I had already turned to my friend and said there goes the ballgame when Gilberry made the tackle. It was a great play that I feel alot of us have forgotten about.

I had forgotten about that until now, but I did notice it when it happened. I remember thinking "Whoa, that was Gilberry!!"

Nice job, WG.

no question....it's easy to get caught up in the flash of the Prothro catch and ignore the "grit and dirt" that really wins a ballgame for ya...

Congrat's, WG, in my book, the defensive play of the game...

Was an excellent play and a perfect example of playing hard on every play and not giving up. I hope he was recognized by the coach or team in some way for his effort. That type of attitude is what every coach wants to see.

I'm glad somebody else noticed that - if Gilberry doesn't make that tackle, USM is up 28-10 and we probably don't win.

I also couldn't help but notice the commentator doing the play-by-play said Rudy Griffin made the tackle. The same guy also kept saying Brodie Croyles. Where do they come up with these guys? That dude should be working for JP with Dave Rowe! He was terrible!
