I guess someone that has never commanded so much attention could not understand how a youngster could enjoy it. Do you think we should have stopped recruiting Andre?
If you are not willing to wait until NSD on some TOP recruits you aren't gonna get many!!!

This is the whole reason Perkins left Bama...he couldn't stand kissing high school kids butts.

I think Aundre is different because he was committed to UCLA until the coaching change. Julio is vying for national attention with ESPN. Different kids, much different character.

If you think he should commit early to get others to fall in place that is one thing. ICWHNMW....I certainly want him no matter what!

First of all Andre Smith didn't commit anywhere until NSD, he was never committed to UCLA. Secondly, do you think we were wrong to go so hard after Tebow? He is only a Heisman winner. I understand what you are saying, but if we are gonna start passing on the top guys in the country because they won't commit until NSD, then we won't win another NC. This is the biggest decision of their young lives, I know it was tough for me to choose a school(and I am from Tuscaloosa) because it affected my future. These kids are the same way, you can't blame them for taking time and enjoying the process that their physical gifts allow them to experience.

If I was in that position, I would take all my visits and weigh out my options regardless of whether or not I would ultimately commit to Alabama.

This is not a flame, just my opinion... We already have a "ton" of birds in hand. All these commits mean nothing till a LOI arrives. So technically it does not matter if he says he is coming or not at this point, one can always change their mind. I want him... I'll kiss his butt. Heck, he is that "type" of player. Whatever school he chooses I'll assure you he wants to be there and has made a wise decision. OU is the most serious comp. at this point and I bet they are making his importance known daily.

This staff has not and will not make the same mistake CMS made. They continue to haul in big name recruits in all positions. I don't think we told JJ, "You are the only player we will recruit in your position" Like someone else did (CMS to TT). He looked like a fool doing that IMHO and TT left him holding the bag.
Christmas Comparison: You hold on to your "wish list" and haul in as many top named toys as you can find. Then come Christmas morning (NSD) you wont be disappointed...
