Pulled out the weather radio this afternoon to check the batteries. Prepping for the storm spotter activation. Got bike helmets and my hard hat sitting in the basement. This one may be bad.

No clue why but my wife has developed a phobia of storms recently.

Current look with several #Tornado Warnings in #Mississippi and one just west of #Tuscaloosa #Alabama. However, the cold front is fast approaching the super cells. That is good news. Long night ahead for Alabama still.

Portions of the Ohio Valley and mid-South regions are facing a major, life-threatening flood danger as multiple bouts of heavy rainfall impact those regions in the second half of this week.

Rainfall totals could reach 10 inches or more in some areas in what the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, is calling "generational rainfall amounts" for their area of the mid-South.

We were spared from flooding but tons of houses and businesses around here were not. Our immediate area got about 15"...

A week ago today, we had a weak tornado go past , and I mean by feet, my house ripping several trees up by their roots in the wooded area next to me, travel up my driveway(300’) blow out the windows in my neighbors garage, cross the road and suck up my across the street neighbors back deck and the above ground pool it surrounded. They are gone, who knows where they landed . We have about 70 trees down within 500 yards of my house. Fortunately, no trees fell on houses, only minor home damage, no trees fell on powerlines , so no power outages, Amazing.
