Does anyone else think this could be a problem? I hope you're all right...but with what we've seen over the last few years...I'll admit...just the "talk" of Saban to WV scares the hell out of me. I was just in WV and people up there seem to think that coach Saban contacted WVU...I think that's total bull crap but I don't know one way or the other...my momma taught me when I was young that where there's smoke there's probably a fire somwhere...that's what worries me.

I also never feel good about the rumors. I guess we don't really know CNS that well yet and after what we have all been thru the last 8 years or so...I do worry about all of this...

I'll never say "never" again, because crazy things happen sometime. However, as recently as a week ago, his agent had not contacted WVU on his behalf and he said "No" to a direct approach. Aside from this, he'd be taking at least a two million cut and going to a school with a 60K stadium which can't sell out its tickets to a BCS bowl. Now, they say they don't have the money, when we fly thousands to Hawaii, even when we're on probation. Their fans also say that his road to a MNC would be easier in the Big Least, and it probably would, but he's not the sort to "retire in place" in the spot where he spent his childhood. On top of everything, his wife is taking every opportunity she can to proclaim their happiness at Bama. As I said, never say "never," but it would be one of the craziest things I've ever seen. I'm not worried about it, but their fans make some of the most entertaining reading I've seen since the guys on "Tigerdroppings" had him coming to LSU...

Edit: I forgot that he'd be walking away from the #2 or 3 recruiting class in the country, for "country roads."

I must admit the LSU guys were more inventive. They had Terry in BR looking for houses and Nick meeting realtors when he was in T-Town. However, the mountain hicks did have CNS meeting in Morgantown, when he was in Shreveport preparing for the bowl. I've seen how a coach acts who's going to leave, because I watched Fran. Saban's going nowhere...

I agree. Coach Saban isn't going anywhere. But, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be discussed heavily on talk radio tomorrow.

Oh, I forgot one bit of fiction. They explain the hiring of the headhunter, Neinas, as he was not really being paid to hunt, but to negotiate a deal with Saban. Now, anyone who knows anything at all about Sexton's operation knows that HE does all the negotiating. We retained Neinas at one point, but it wasn't to negotiate. Negotiation doesn't get farmed out to Neinas. In fact, not even WVU is going to farm out negotiation to Neinas. And, the governor of the misbegotten state is the godfather of Saban's son and has no problem at all picking up the phone to call Saban, so why not let the Gov negotiate? And why did the Gov deny that Saban was interested in the WVU job? Oh, forgot, that was all of two weeks ago. Frankly, they're making themselves look like a bunch of fools, just like the "Droppings" guys did. And I think they're hurting their team in the process. You'd never know they had a big game coming up - it's all "Saban," "Saban," "Saban...." They're a nutty bunch...

Yep, the national media will pick it up, and it will grow legs. Our rivals will certainly encourage this rumor and the affect it will have on recruiting!

Saban isn't going anywhere and he won't be going anywhere for a while. I don't care what his previous actions say, he's not leaving 'Bama no time soon. And no, this isn't coming from a reliable source, or any factual proofs whatsoever, it's coming simply from common sense.

Like Tubby said in relation to the leaving OPI down in Aubarn before he realized no other school wanted him, "It sure makes for good talk, doesn't it?"

OMG

I was on the Alabama Scout board and there was a thread that is now locked, it said that a local Alabama TV station is reporting that they spoke to a WVU insider (someone in the football program) that has said that Nick Saban has accepted the Head Coaching position at West Virginia.

I tried to respond but the thread but it was locked so I have NO LINK. They are really monitoring their board so there are almost NO rumors or anything suggesting Saban is even a candidate anywhere.

This thing has some real legs.......
