Re: Our idiot Gov. (WV) can't keep his nose out of WVU football hire
I don't think these rumors have any foundational basis, but you never want to hear your beloved coach mentioned for somewhere else, even if you are 99.99999% certain it won't happen.
That said, we're going to have to get used to this. Any time you have a hot commodity as your head coach, and Saban certainly is that, his name is going to continue to pop up for openings. And it's not that I think he wants to leave, but by the same token it is not like he can go into meltdown mode refuting everything left and right every time some Internet rumor pops up.
My guess is that West Virginia will hire a coach within the next ten days, and it will be someone aside from Nick Saban. That will quell the rumors for this year, but they will only go away for an indefinite time. Rest assured that if Saban and our beloved Tide finds a good bit of success next year, and hopefully we will, his name will most likely start popping up for NFL coaching vacancies.
What can I say? It comes with the territory with a highly acclaimed coach. But I think we can all say from experience that having the rumors is a heck of a lot better than having a coach who other schools wouldn't take off your hands if you tried to give him away.
