Omnibus Thread on SEC Tournament...

As the Net now stands Alabama would have 18 reg season Q1 games, plus most likely 1-3 such in the SEC tournament. Probably 20 Q1 games before the NCAA tournament. I wonder how many teams have played 20 Q1 games before NCAAs?
We’ve already played 6 Q1 and with a 7th come Saturday. That would have us having played 21 regular season Q1 games if rankings stay steady.

Man I’ll tell you who got the short end of the stick scheduling wise; Florida.

This is the cream of the crop of the SEC going by NET.

1 Auburn
2 Tennessee
5 Florida
8 Kentucky
10 Bama

Bama and Tennessee play 6 games against this group, 3 at home 3 away.

Kentucky also plays 6 games against this group but has 4 of them at home and 2 on the road.

For Auburn it’s 5, 3 at home and 2 on the road. We host Florida and Tennessee and Bama, we go to UK and Bama.

Meanwhile poor ol’ Florida plays 5 games against this group, but only 1 is at home and the other 4 are on the road.

My momma always told me, if you put your hand (arm) where it shouldn't be, you could get hurt.

the guy came down on him. He didn’t have it anywhere it shouldn’t have been. Nothing dirty about that just an unfortunate outcome.

his scans were positive today. Strain, no surgery. I imagine we sit him for Purdue and Monmouth and have him back for either the open of SEC play or Tennessee at the latest. Unfortunately probably gonna have to eat the Purdue game. Dylan and Chaney are fine backups but they do foul.

Michigan....up by three with possession. Fail to get a score. 23 seconds left and Oklahoma with the ball now. You don't foul them here?

Of course not. You let them score a trey AND ONE.....and then go on to LOSE the freaking game!

Meat Chicken.......

No love for Michigan here, but I watched the replay of that 3 pt shot and the guy was not fouled and only barely touched at all. Horrendous call.

Not a hard touch but when I watched from a better angle the guys arm did get hit during the shot and then foot was also in shooters landing area so two reasons for a foul. Nothing egregious, but still a foul.

I've seen guys get assaulted on those shots (game ending 3 pointers) and it goes uncalled.

But we are just back to the unevenness of collegiate refereeing.

Was it worse than this one? (I couldn't find a good replay but I think it was very clear that the air ball was a result of a hit on the shooting arm; the defender didn't come close to touching the ball)

ETA: I think he shot over 80% free throws and should have had three attempts.

ETA: Releford may have walked before he started his dribble.
This was worse.

The replay I watched was included in the ESPN article of the game. The shooter basically flopped.

he sold the contact. While there wasn’t much it was enough. Doesn’t take a lot to throw off a long jumper.
I don't argue that it does not take a lot to throw off a shooter. My point is I have, many times, seen much worse go uncalled.

I also argue that while there may have been contact, it was not enough to disrupt the shot at all. Not even close. Not worth a call. 98% of his movement after releasing the ball was his acting, NOT the contact from the defender.
