What do you think of Bama finishing 9-3?

I originally thought we might have two losses - probably Georgia and Tennessee. No Vandy loss. But as the year unfolded and you saw how good or not other teams were, and with our victory over Georgia, I thought we might have no more than one loss. Tennessee, LSU and OU all ended up being worse than expected. Unfortunately, we did not show up for some games like I thought we would. (Tennessee, OU). We should have never lost to Vandy, but I think we felt invincible after the Georgia win. So, we're 9-3 and we'll have to see where we go from here.

In the immediate aftermath they’re all frustrating.

In the grand scheme of this season, only the UT loss is “acceptable”.

Vandy and OU losses without a doubt, unacceptable.
I don't even think the Tennessee loss was acceptable. That game was ours to take, but we got M.I.A. Milroe in that game and couldn't generate any offense.

I think if you said 9-3 with wins over Auburn, UGA, and LSU most would probably have taken it because they would have assumed Oklahoma and Tennessee were world beaters and we might have lost to Mizzou or Wisconsin. I think most complaining are more complaining about a loss to Vandy and losing to a bad Oklahoma team when we had full control over our fate.

But overall… I think it was a good start to a tenure. Not a great one based on context, but it’s a good one.

What do you think about 9-3 season? My preseason prediction was 9-3 with losses to Tennessee, LSU and Oklahoma. Didn’t see Vandy loss or LSU win. Good start for new coach, staff, and players.
Should have been 11-1 vandy and OU disappointed me. Tenn was just better that day. But we can win 10 and keep the streak alive from 2010 to present. My only suggestion to Deboer get some real discipline in this team and fast. Penalties and turnovers are killing us and the lack of discipline across the board with tacky ass smack talk late hits etc. need to stop. Time to grow a pair coach and get firm with these kids. Or you will never win a title here. You are not their friend you are their teacher, act like it. Bench guys if need be, they should not be you buddy but they should respect you and fear you a bit. This is SEC ball toughness and discipline is key

I was expecting 2, maybe 3 losses but I got the losses (teams) wrong. lol

Season was frustrating because of lots of issues.

It will be better next season.

I live in Georgia, and do not want UGA to win the National championship. Especially with how they have played this year (ups and downs like Bama and other teams). Not sure who I will pull for if Bama doesn't make in it....

How many times do we have to keep answering this question, or questions like it? I think by now we all know how each other feel. Or may be you are new to the board.

My overall grade for CKD for his 1st season is a D+.

The "D" comes from the eradic and consistently inconsistent play of the team, causing unnecessary losses to OU and Vandy. We should have NEVER lost those games. The handling of the QB position. The "+" comes from beating Auburn, winning 9 games and beating UGA and bowl cut again.

You’re an even harder grader than Sister Aileen in 9th grade Algebra.

Rarely, if ever, does a transition from a legendary coach to a new regime go smoothly. The new system has to adapt existing players to it, which is never ideal. The players have to adopt new policies and habits from the new staff. That's just the playing part..new coaches see talent differently, too...with these dynamics and the pressure of being Bama.i think 9-3 is about par...losses to Vandy ( who were better than expected) and OU...were very poor BUT beating UGA and LSU were good. Once Deboer gets his system and staff and players..then we shall truly get to see what he's made of.

Not all 9-3 are equal. Losing to Vandy and this years OU team are 100% unacceptable. Especially the OU game because I’m not sure we score a TD even if the game was 8 quarters long. The team look unprepared, unmotivated and uninterested. I think it was the worst single game coaching job I have ever seen at Bama. It has honestly soured me on the DeBoer hire.
