Think Ty may get some reps in practice this week?
The only way I can see T Simpson getting game reps is if we're behind and the offense stalls out for more than "several" series under Milroe, and B Young cannot play at all or is limited in the number of snaps he can take. Outside of that, if Milroe is moving the offense I think he gets the nod for the entire game or split reps between him and BY.

Agreed. Frankly, I think we are in pretty good shape with Milroe especially given the fact that we are game planning for him. You know Coach has been in BOBs ear all week to come up with a strategy of plays that Jalen runs well.

Yes, I expect to see a much different offensive approach for Milroe, which could very well lead to him being apart of every game going forward even after BY comes back full time.

Jalen's running ability is his strength. Kind of like a pitcher with a really good fastball that's over 100 mph, but the curveball is ok. Since his fastball is so good, that mediocre curveball will still strike out a bunch of batters. His running ability will open up some easy passes where he doesn't have to be perfect.
That's what I'm thinking...his passing game won't look like Bryce's passing game, but can still be effective. Just got to skin the cat a bit differently to get there...

The good thing about this, if there is one, is that 8&4 had to spend time preparing to play against two different style QB's.
Wait, what? I'm pretty sure I heard that coach Saban was going to call Jimbo to tell him what Bama would do at QB.

I don't think he intended for a true, "critical" comparison, but just for "up to this point" information only, and he acknowledged it was a very small sample size.

But, up to this point we can gather some information from the limited sample size. It is very encouraging that his between the numbers completions are very good. It is interesting he has zero attempts to his left side and seven attempts to his right. Does he feel more comfortable throwing to his right or did the coverage dictate it? Good stuff.

When he first came in the game in 2nd qtr we were hitting some screen plays. Would like to see that remain in the game plan just to get Gibbs the ball in space.

I'm not sure everyone realizes how ridiculous it is to have Gibbs and Milroe back there together.

Imagine you are the defense, how are you going to handle all the various scenarios? The situation creates space for Gibbs, and Gibbs is one of the best in college football in space. You have to respect Milroe's running ability though, so you can't just focus on Gibbs. Even if Milroe keeps the ball, the offense can still do pretty much what ever they want. Milroe can run, he can dump it off to Gibbs, he can pass downfield.

They are just such complimentary players, obviously Milroe is not as good as Young, but I could argue that he opens up more opportunities for Gibbs than Young did.

The same with some QB runs and more explosive running plays by the backs because of the threat of Milroe. Curious to see if there will be the RPO game or if he will have to just give to the RB?
