This question has ONLY one answer…….
Well I’m probably going to miss it then.

My immediate response to the question is Mark Ingram breaking down in tears when he accepted the Heisman trophy. Something about that raw emotional response moved me all those years ago.

It was, to me, the moment that I knew things were going to be different under Nick Saban. I had seen an undefeated national championship in 1992. I had read all about the Coach Bryant era and knew of dominance through that. But Alabama had never won a Heisman. Alabama just didn’t win Heismans. All of that rich tradition and history was missing the sport’s most prestigious individual award. For many it was actually a point of pride.

Then Ingram won and broke down in tears, seemingly from relief of the burden of the collective weight of Alabama’s entire history of missing that award being lifted off his own shoulders. I’ll admit I shed a tear or two as well.

Yes I prefer National Titles to Heismans. Yes there are other moments I could come up with if I took the time to think, particularly around 4/27/2011. But no. I’m going with my initial response.

Actually, I misread the question.

It is asking one's FAVORITE moment not the most important or most exciting, etc.

So.......I'll go hibernate.

Aside from the 2nd and 27…. Matt caddells catch vs Arkansas
With all of the amazing moments, that's actually the very first one that came to my mind. I've said this on TideFans before, but with that win, I knew Alabama had fundamentally changed. Before Saban, they would have lost that game 9 times out of 10 because of a lack of self confidence (that comes from a lack of mental toughness).

Its more of a personal favorite for me. If it was a rank them in order in significance it might edge out the top 10 because it was the first big moment of the Saban era.

Running into Mount Cody in Ten Hoor, literally walked right into him.
He won.
a side story that has nothing to do with this thread but with your post...

After graduating from Bama my wife got her grad degree at Fifteenasee. Peyton Manning was a freshman and literally ran over my wife (who is 5'2") and scattered her books everywhere. He probably never saw her and apologized profusely ("Ma'am I'm really sorry!) and picked up her books for her.

Oddly enough, I will always remember when A.J. and Barrett got into it at the end of the natty, I thought that moment really encapsulated the Saban mindset.

It is a tie between 2 things for me:

1. Coach Saban's introductory press conference after he arrived in Tuscaloosa.

2. Landon Dickerson carrying Coach around the field after Bama won the National Championship. That moment was so special, especially with the perfect season, and all the things the team/staff (every team really) had to go through that season due to Covid.
