Wrong. I have a delusional coworker who is talking trash still today. Unbelievable. I just don’t know what world some of these fans of other teams are living in
Yeah I’ve heard a few still say “well wait until Indy”. What’s going to be different? I think most believe Daniels is going to Tua us or that losing Metchie is going to prevent us from running our offense.

This is the crap I and others have to live with every day. They have not even beaten Michigan yet and they are already going to win it all.

The sad thing is that I pity any Alabama fan that is potentially going to Indianapolis if we beat Cincy. You couldn’t find two worse fanbases to be severely outnumbered by in a huge game…. But then again it makes it sweeter to be there when they are forced to take their medicine on a national stage.

Yup. BOB went back to “Bad BOB” on those series. This was unquestionably his best called game though, so I can’t complain that much.
I don’t know how I feel about all of that. We truly had no chance of getting a first down by just running it. At the point where those drives happened, I was in favor of staying aggressive and running the normal offense… Which in this game meant throwing it. It didn’t work out as well as I would’ve liked, but I’m OK with the philosophy in this case in this game

There have been games where we needed a first down or two to seal a game, and instead of running a normal offense and trying to get first downs we just handed the ball off and punted. Some of us fuss when that happens.

I guess you can’t please all the people all the time

In a weird way I’m almost hoping that we get a chance to whip their ass again instead of playing Michigan. I think they wouldn’t be able to take it if we beat them twice in a year.

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch. The Bearcats are very capable of beating us.

16 starters returning: The defensive line, led by defensive end Myjai Sanders, is very stout. So here's what you need to know: With 16 starters returning, if Cincinnati can go undefeated in the 2021 regular season, the Bearcats have a good chance to be the first Group of Five team to reach the College Football Playoff.Aug 17, 2021

Georgia's defense is very good. But good offense will always beat good defense nowadays.
I think that is a point that people are trying so hardly not to accept. You arent going to win a national championship without a dynamic quarterback. You can have the greatest defense of all time, but if you have a Mickey Mouser or an undeveloped guy in the backfield then you are going to get spanked. 2016 found that out the hard way. The difference in the SECCG was the same difference in the last Bama/UGA matchup... Stetson Bennett can only do so much, and what he cant do is win a high scoring duel.

People can throw as many defensive stats up as they want to, but they dont mean jack if that defense doesnt have a great quarterback on the otherside.

Beating Michigan in the Citrus Bowl is how we end a disappointing season (2019).
Beating Michigan in the championship game would be better.

Definitely benefitting from hindsight, it’s clear that UGA’s secondary isn’t that good, and it finally bit them against a good QB.

But it’s even clearer that the difference in the game was our OL having its best performance of the season by a margin of light years. Even the presumptive Heisman winner can’t complete passes if he’s looking up at the ceiling.

So my real question is why did the OL play so much better?

I’ve heard they were finally healthy, but I don’t see how they would have been that much healthier than the previous week when they had their worst performance of the year. I’ve heard that Joe Pendry came in as an analyst / consultant to help out — don’t know if that’s true or not. I‘ve heard that Seth McLaughlin might not be as physically talented as Dalcourt, but is a far better communicator, and that factor at the C position made a ton of difference.

I don’t know, but I’m hoping some of the coaches on the board can enlighten me. Why did the OL that took the field against Georgia make me want to ask, “Who are you, and what have you done with our OL?”

That may be the case, but Cole Cubelic tweeted out a highlight where McLaughlin absolutely knocked one Georgia blitzer on his ass. That dude is a tough hard nosed dude. There is definitely Landon Dickerson vibes coming from him.

I really am beginning to think his addition to the lineup and Owens playing for his last moments of his career at RT has stabilized everything.

i remember early in the game when gary was gushing about the jawjuh defense and was talking about davis (their mount cody copy). He was talking about how they wanted him down to 325 lbs to play but he was playing at 350 and how that was just going awesome.

then a while later on bryce's td pass to metchie (the one where he had all day in the pocket and was pointing metchie to a spot), all davis did on that play was stand up. i don't think he even moved.
