Definitely benefitting from hindsight, it’s clear that UGA’s secondary isn’t that good, and it finally bit them against a good QB.
But it’s even clearer that the difference in the game was our OL having its best performance of the season by a margin of light years. Even the presumptive Heisman winner can’t complete passes if he’s looking up at the ceiling.
So my real question is why did the OL play so much better?
I’ve heard they were finally healthy, but I don’t see how they would have been that much healthier than the previous week when they had their worst performance of the year. I’ve heard that Joe Pendry came in as an analyst / consultant to help out — don’t know if that’s true or not. I‘ve heard that Seth McLaughlin might not be as physically talented as Dalcourt, but is a far better communicator, and that factor at the C position made a ton of difference.
I don’t know, but I’m hoping some of the coaches on the board can enlighten me. Why did the OL that took the field against Georgia make me want to ask, “Who are you, and what have you done with our OL?”
