I've heard this for years and wasn't quite sure where the word "fambly" came from. I understand how they use the term "Auburn Family" all the time. Is "fambly" derived from the pronunciation of "family" by Pat Dye, David Housel or somebody else? I believe I've heard Pat Dye pronounce the word incorrectly, but just not sure if it came from him. Either way, it's hilarious!

I thought 'ol pat pronounced it "fam-bu-ly"...but anyways, yes. My understanding is it came from pat.
It became truly irritating when Chizik arrived. On most occasions "The Family" often appeared in the same sentence with its nauseating first cousin: "All In."
Put together, we have a remake of "All In The Family" in which the main characters once again behave stupidly, say tasteless things and look accusingly at the rest of the world.

Speaking of Pat Dye, I used to love the way he would roll out the word elig-i-bili-ty in his southern drawl:tongue:
I know many outside the souf make fun of that long drawn out drawl but to me it is classic when I come across someone who still has it.
thumbs up - CPD may be a cheat and a drunk, but I loved hearing him on Finebaum, and I love his Alabama parks commercials with Coach Stallings and Coach Bowden.
The way I understand of what it takes to have elig-i-bili-ty at the barn is the ability to tie your shoes. Although they may have tutors do it for them.
I was in Clemson for work once and decided I wanted a Clemson t-shirt. I went in a couple stores on campus and it looked like a barn shop. I just couldn't bring myself to get one.
Well how do you compare the fans. I met plenty and they have me no problems.

Pat always believed there was no "i" in family. Legend has it, the "b" was later added when he was particularly inspired after one of his favorite evening brews.
