Where is a good place to eat in Atlanta?

I am taking my cousin in April to her first Braves game. It is an afternoon game so we will be able to go eat afterward. I am looking for an unique place to eat, and maybe something that isn't a chain that I can find here in North Alabama.

I tried Six Feet Under last year when I was in Atlanta, and it was pretty good. It is a seafood place, but I am wanting to try something different and unique.

Anyone have any suggestions? No bars or anything like that, please.

Not sure what your budget looks like, but if you want a unique experience go to the SunDial atop the Westin downtown. It is a neat experience rotating around the building and I have thought the food is good. But, there is a price with it. Dantes in Buckhead is unique as well but not worth the price for fondu but it is neat. Lots of choices though

tons of good stuff. wisteria and babettes are not too far from the stadium and are really good. both are pricey though. tons of other stuff in the inman park area that is good. as far as downtown stuff goes, there is the city grill (pricey) and mccormick and Schmidts (high end steak house). if you get up into midtown (a couple of miles north of downtown and accessible by marta) there is also a ton of different and non-chain options.

if you want a great burger, hit the vortex, but it is sort of bar-like.

also google both "atlanta restaurant week downtown" and "atlanta restaurant week midtown". not sure when restaurant week is this year, but the sites for them will list all of the better known and nicer restaurants and their menus/locations in each area so you can know what you have to choose from.

1. Gumbeaux's in Douglasville if you like Louisiana style cajun food....closest I've found to authentic cajun outside of Louisiana
2. Canoe's in Vinings - right on the Chattahoochie River and good food....reserve a table overlooking the river
3. Garrison's in Vinings - also great food
4. The Olive Tree on Thornton Road near Six Flags - very informal, but really good Greek and Italian food - ask for Peter as your waiter (older Greek gentleman who works there occasionally)

Rathbun's has the best steak in the city. Not Rathbun's Steak. The original. Ray's in the City is FANTASTIC seafood.
ill have to try rathbun's, never been there. i do find it hard to believe that bones can be topped though, i almost wept when i ate there. then i broke down and sobbed when the bill came ;)

You ever been to Hal's Steaks? Haven't had a steak when I've been to Rathbun's, but Hal's is hard to beat.

I'll also second Wisteria. Here are a few of our favorite places

Hal's Steaks
Sotto Sotto
Wisteria
JTC Kitchen
Iberian Pig in Decatur
One Midtown Kitchen
Miller Union
Rathbun's

Probably not in your vicinity, but I used to visit Alpharetta twice a year, and would often go to 5 Seasons. I loved it.

I'll second Canoe and raise with Woodfire Grill and their crispy pork belly.
