With Jackson's commitment, looks like we will flesh out the remainder on NSD so now the likely drought or waiting game begins. Hey...at least there will be some drama this year with NSD. Kamara, Liner and possibly Reed will hopefully come on board on NSD. I hear we may have one more announcement before NSD. Conner I hear is probably OM. He is recruiting now for OM. Then remains Tunsil (likely a UGA lean), Robinson (likely a UT lean), Vanderdoes, Adams, Poggi and perhaps Thomas (who CNS is visiting today). Poggi may be waiting to see how the numbers game plays out at Bama. Vanderdoes is a distinct possibility since he is making a visit. So now it becomes a numbers and waiting game with perhaps one more announcement before NSD. My guess is Kamara, Liner, Reed and I will go out on a limb and say Vanderdoes. Mods please change thing to things. Typing on an Ipad is ugh.

We have a shot at Bellamy also. This is going to be an exciting NSD for sure!

Re: Where thing stand on 1/30

Any chance you guys think we shoehorn V. Bell into this class still, or has that ship sailed? I sure would like to see him come here.

Re: Where thing stand on 1/30

The ship has not sailed per se. But it might as well have sailed. With Jackson's commitment, it is now a numbers game. I think we saw Jackson as a guy who has awesome football speed and an excellent CB. Bell may well be out now with the way things are playing out.

Skipster,

Liner seems to be a safe bet to be #23. Any idea what happens if Foster, Tunsil and one of the others commit on signing day? Who in the class has been told they would be the odd man out? Or, do you think all the remaining ones know the first 2 not named Liner get the spot? Can't imagine Foster or Tunsil being told "No".

I know Saban has said plenty of times nobody know who is on scholly, do we potentially have room to back fill? I noticed aTm is up to 35 commitments and even they admit they have 8 slots they can back fill from last year. So, at least 2 are gonna be left out to dry come NSD.

Re: Where thing stand on 1/30

I don't think CNS would be visiting Matthew Thomas this late if Foster was still on our radar . I hope we can get Matt . He is the anti-Foster ! rtr...

Not trying to start a rumor but did I read on this board that there is a possibility that Rueben may have qualifying issues?

I actually answered your question in the other thread. We have one back-counter. In addition, I've heard two rumors which would free up two slots - Cook's grades may be shaky and one recruit has accepted a grayshirt. I haven't been able to verify either one, but we may have a little more room for a Foster or Tunsil...

Too many outside factors going on with this kid. He is without a doubt, imo, the most physically gifted inside linebacker in this class. But with that said, I wish him the best but I also feel it will be for the better of our program if we part ways.

Re: Where thing stand on 1/30

It is reported that three are shaky on grades. Cook, Stewart and Paige. Bottom line is...think we make room WylieTexasTider. As TIDE-HSV notes, there are rumors on one more grayshirt. It will be interesting to see how it all comes out. There is a little bit of some drama on NSD this year and I hope the other drama (pretend) is just that....created for effect (e.g. Tenpenny). Some kids do not like to be foregone conclusions. We can hope that is all smoke for effect. I just see Foster staying pat with the barn given his family situation. Just my opinion only but one shared by the majority. UT sees Bama as a real threat for Robinson but he is a hard pull. Seems Tunsil is a UGA lean but he is very quiet. Robinson is also quiet. If we pull a surprise on NSD, it seems most likely with Tunsil or Robinson. I guess we will have to wait and see unless something comes out this week.

Re: Where thing stand on 1/30

I had known that about Paige, but I only heard about Cook a couple of days ago...

I know there is definitely a method to the madness with our staff so now I know why so much has been in flux recruit-wise of late. And now that Paige is in question I can see why so many D Linemen have become a priority. I just hope we get a few (more that a couple) studs to shore up that side of the trenches.

Cook's grades have always been a concern, which is why when we finally offered, things were "assumed" to be better. Maybe not....

Re: Where thing stand on 1/30

If Cook's grades aren't better, is Jackson his replacement? Which means Bama can take either Bell and/or Conner?

Jackson was a priority target all along but he had grade probs early on. If we have three in trouble with grades then that simply opens up the possibility for others whom we thought may not fit into this class.

Thanks Earl! (Saw it on the other thread too...)

Re: Where thing stand on 1/30

My prediction for signing day will be, drum roll......... Liner, Kamara, Robinson, Thomas, Vanderdoes. I have no clue of what was said during A'Shawn Robinson's in home visit but I just get the feeling he was told he could play on either side of the ball. He has a great chance regardless of playing in his first or second year because of his position. Buckle up this is going to be one of the more exciting NSD! Roll Tide!
