Where will this team rank in the Saban era

The story still has one more chapter to be written but I think it is fair to start figuring out where this team falls in the Saban era. It is insane how empty this 10-win season will end up being compared to other Saban Alabama seasons if they don't beat their first good opponent in the bowl. The comps for this team have to be the three to not play for a conference or national championship/playoff.

The 2007 team that lost to ULM could likely end up with a better win in their 7-6 season (10-4 Tennessee).

2010 went 10-3 but had three good wins (10-win Arkansas, 9-win Mississippi St, and 11-win Michigan State).

2013 finished the season on a two-game losing streak but they beat a 9-win TAMU w/ Manziel and a 10-win LSU.

Seems like this team will end up slotting above 2007 but it could end up having no quality wins and only going above 2007 because 10-3 > 7-6 w/ a loss to ULM. We're lucky to have this few "disappointing teams" and 3 of them have 10 or more wins. Still, this is season feels worse than 2007 or 2010 because there were absolutely no great wins. That 2007 Tennessee upset brought me more joy than anything we've done in 2019.

Above 2007 and 2010. That’s about it.
I thought that at first but the 2010 actually played hellacious schedule and went 3-3 against the 6 9+ win teams they played that year. That team had some injury problems too but they fared much better against a much tougher schedule than 2019.

Other than 2007, the worst. You didn't beat a team worth a spit this year. Worst record = worst team.

At least I can say the 2007 played above their capabilities. For me, this is the worst, but the real answer is behind 2010 and ahead of 2007.

Another note: this team's best win thus far is a 7-5 Texas A&M squad who may very well be better than their record against a VERY tough schedule but they haven't exactly shown a ton of competence against any of their best opponents. Ultimately, you are what your record says you are...and they're 7-5 and our best win.

I would have lace this team above 2007, but below 2010.
The 2010 team spanked Mich State in a impressive manner.
That 2010 got better at the end of the season showing the greatness that would come the following year. This year's team never showed improvement on defense or overall discipline. The fundamentals such as tackling has never improved. Jumping offsides, jawing with the other team way too much. Doesn't even look like a Saban team.

Depends. What do we do in the bowl and who is it against? This team has one last shot at some sort of redemption. If we putter out against a Minnesota, then you can flat out call it the worst although technically it would have to be above the 2007 squad. But this team is drastically more talented than that one and would have underachieved terribly compared to it.

If we win the bowl game, especially if we play up to potential, then it can fall somewhere middle of the pack.

Unequivocally one of the best, championship caliber. Champions don’t make useless penalties and crumble under pressure though, so it’s the what if’s.

I think some of our Championship teams would have been run off the field by this year's LSU team. No Defense is shutting down this LSU squad though Auburn made a fine effort score wise. Still gave up over 500 yards though.

Probably the best team we've ever had that would have given us a chance to beat LSU's juggernaut this year. With a 100% mobile Tua I think we do it. I've been throughly entertained watching Tua, Judy, Smitty, Ruggs, and Waddle put on an absolute show the last 2 years regardless.

Tip your hat to LSU. I've watched Ohio St and while a really solid football team I don't think they can hang with LSU. I don't think anybody can. Clemson, Georgia, Nobody. When it's all said and done I believe we will have given them their best game this year.

Just my opinion which isn't worth squat. We'll see how it plays out.
