I'd go with either the 2000 USM game or the 1999 LaTech game.

The image of two of our dbs standing there flatfooted while the WR jumped up for the winning TD tips the scale in that direction.

The La Monroe game was the product of too many chickens coming home to roost on the same day.

Yeah...I think for everyone that was in attendance for the 21-0 beating we took from Southern Miss will have to say that game. It was the most pathetic showing I have ever seen from an Alabama football team. Everything we did that had the potential to be positive turned into a negative. It was the first and last time I ever sat on the 50 yard line for a Bama game. I don't care who you are...you don't let a team like Southern Miss come into your stadium and beat you 21-0.

99 La Tech was most heart breaking and with the greatest negative effect.

Saturday ULM was the worst to me because of the factors Coach Saban has mentioned and I had to be there to see it.

To me, the latest one always stings the worst as time heals those other wounds,
so I'd have to say the ULM loss last Saturday. But to me, the key word here is 'LAST SATURDAY'. It's past & it's time to move on...

Auburn is next and all the self-doubt & pity in our little worlds ain't gonna change the fact that BAMA is suiting up to play the Tigers in Auburn THIS SATURDAY!!!
Forget those things you cannot change. The past is the past. It is dead & gone as far as controlling anything. Let's get ready because this team is going to end this streak, THIS WEEK! I am looking forward to be a hoarse old man come Sunday morning!

:biga: RDT!!!:biga:

Southern Miss is a million times more respectable than ULM.

Easily the ULM game. The USM loss in '00 is maybe #2 because we didn't score a point, but I think everyone kinda knew at that point that Dubose was toast and the team was on autopilot. The ULM loss was against a middle of the pack Sunbelt team that limped into this game with some ugly losses on it's resume and the present Bama coach is in another stratosphere than Dubose.

Yeah...but they didn't beat us 21-0. We got shut out at home by that team. I know losing to ULM was bad and it hurt...but that shutout was horrible and I just remember how ....ed everyone was that made the drive to Birmingham. We might as well have just not showed up at all and taken the forfeit.

Well, personally it was the UCF game. I had the "privilege" of being at the LT games, the UCF game, and the NI game . . . . for some reason the UCF has always killed me.

Remember when losing to Ole Miss on Homecoming was considered horrific?

I attended most of the games on that list. IMO the loss to Louisiana-Monroe is by far the worst loss. The worst game on that list was the 2000 game against USM.

This info comes from the new BAMA GAMES DATABASE here on TideFans

One of the interesting things to note is that in virtually all games that we lost from 1997-2003, we beat the spread. Since then, we haven't faired so well against the spread (ATP). Expectations are higher than results.

It's a tough decision, but all i know it that my Very 1st Bama game was the 2000 USM 21-0 beating...i'm still trying to recover from it!

I would put the 2000 UCLA loss as the most deflating. UCLA was certainly a good team, especially with Foster at RB, but that game was displayed just out of sync the team was that year.

Before that game, we had serious national title aspirations.

La Tech, 1997. It was homecoming and my family had come to visit me at the capstone. My brother and I stood in the pouring rain, barely able to see (they were still finishing construction and were using temporary lights). Not only did we get soaked to our bones, but we also had to endure a loss to La Tech (in fairness, they did have a future NFL QB and WR).

That was brutal.
