Though losing to Mississippi State would be a very "Auburn" thing for them to do, I see Auburn winning this game.

And, to be quite honest, I am almost pulling for them. After Mullen guaranteed wins over Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss and a west division title, I'd love to see him fall flat on his face.

True, but it is so much fun when Auburn loses. I get to rub it in some of my family's face :).

I think AU wins by about 10. Newton won't have the game he did last week, but he'll still put together enough plays to get the W.

That's the way I see it too. Auburn's going to be Jekell and Hyde as bad as they were last year, but this isn't going to be one of the ugly nights. MSU will be better prepared and better coached, but they don't have the athletes to contain Malzahn's offense.

It will be a track meet, and if Auburn makes too many mistakes it could go the bulldog's way but I'm saying AU 41 MSU 35.

Re: Who Dare Pick Miss. St. Over Aubie

I'm in too. The barn has no real defense, and their offense is a joke. If they think they got a real test by Arky State's visit, the MSU 'Dogs are going to have a field day. They'll be fighting like, well, cats and dogs, but when it's over, the plains kitties will have plenty of time to lick their wounds and find a way to make excuses for their failures.
MSU 35 Barn 21

Look at what Arky State did to them as a first year spread team. This will be State's second year in the spread system. Auburn's D is young. State fans are idiots and will use the cowbells so much Cam Newton won't hear too well after the game. It's going to be a shoot out with Auburn throwing everything (kitchen sink included) at State. State somehow wins it being at home.

I think Auburn wins this game although it could go either way. With Mullen coming from UF and being highly involved in recruiting Newton to UF, he will know his weaknesses and how to slow him down and make things difficult on him. With that being said, I think MSU is still a year away from being a team that will win it's share of mediocre battles against teams in the SEC. Maybe they'll wear the black jerseys again as they obviously are so intimidating!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

There is only two ways AU loses this game....

1-Newton goes out injured
2-AU has more than 3 turnovers

AU will find a way to win this one.. Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of..

AU 42 MSU 29

Any way you slice it, State's talent level is still not to the point that they can compete consistently with the better conference teams. Auburn clearly still has some issues to sort out defensively, and I certainly think State will gash them for some big plays and a few scores. But conversely, I don't think the Bulldogs have the horses defensively to keep up with Auburn for four quarters. I see a final in the neighborhood of 38-24 in Auburn's favor.

I agree with the Real Poke Chop...the Barners D is awful..they let that high school team score to much to be any good. Bama's D held to only 3 points. And Cam hasn't met a SEC team yet. He's got a big head and soon to be popped by someone who will say "Welcome to the SEC". I always dare to pull for ANYBODY playing the Barners.

Yeah, when the cow bells ring, the barners start heading toward the stump.. It might just be wishful thinking, but I think this might be the time that the barn gets taken out behind the barn. Prolly lots of scoring, bit I'll say 35-28 MSU.

wasn't done....lol
then...... for the rest of the season...when ever we happen to talk with a farmschooler...as they rattle an blab about whatever...we listen patiently(of course:rolleyes:).....then utter one word.....cowbell.
and all mighty hell would be unleashed. lol

Our credibility as a knowledgeable football fanbase is going to take a hit if Auburn wins this one because right now it's 232 for Miss. St. and 36 for Auburn. We OVERWHELMINGLY favor Miss. St. to win.

Add me. I think home field advantage + a coaching advantage will overcome a small talent deficit and decide the event in favor of the home team.

I just picked Miss. State because I don't like Auburn :). No seriously. I think Miss. State has a good chance of winning. It may be a high scoring affair.

I don't think it's a big stretch to think Miss State will win. What is the line like 2 points? This could be a nice thursday, Saints over Vikes and Auburn taking a nosedive Starkville.
