If I could hand pick a coach other than Smart, it would probably be Lanning. Otherwise, there is something endearing about Kiffin that I would love to see him succeed at Alabama. I just wish I had seen more from him as a head coach, though this year was a bit of a break through for him.

Something tells me Saban already made a call or two... I could be totally off base with this, but you would think he would want to protect the kingdom that he built. My dark horse would be Kirby but I just can't see him leaving his alma mater. I suspect Dabo, Lane, Lanning, or Deboer. I would rank them
