It's the offseason and pieces like that just tell me they have zero information coming out of Tuscaloosa. So they create speculative articles to have people click and read something that is nothing more than blind speculation.
agreed - there is so little coming out, that the media is looking for anything to create clicks/views. They could be right, and they could be missing by a country mile.

Saban essentially told him that going into the 23 season. He had to be order of magnitude better so that Saban basically had no choice but to play him.

All due to locker room/NIL/LANK dynamics, TS couldn't just be better. That's a ton of extra pressure...
This isn't an attack on you, I would just like to propose the bolded word be a mandatory perma-ban if used...

IMO Ty showed enough against USF in 2023 to earn the start against Ole Miss the next week. We were in danger of losing that game, and Ty WON it for us. Would we have beaten Ole Miss with Ty? Again, we'll never know.
Roydell Williams won that game and it’s not close. In reality the team won, as poorly as they played. But if one player should be singled out, IMO, Roydell is he - by far. I guess it was his best game at Alabama, and in crunch time too. At least Ty didn’t give up in such an “awkward” and frustrating game.

On a more agreeable and positive note, I saw on another site where Ty was voted to the team’s leadership council. Seems like a big deal, at the very least, a good sign. Wish him the best, along with the other kids.

Not taking anything away from Roydell, but our offense was doing nothing all day, and Ty led them to two scoring drives. Buchner never should have been offered by Bama. That was one of the biggest mistakes of Saban’s career.

I agree, but how bad must the QB's have been playing for him to offer Buchner? I think desperation set in for Saban and the staff.

Just my opinion, but i don't think the buchner offer was due to on campus qb's...i think it was more of a bone thrown to Rees. Or maybe rees threw one heckuva sales pitch to coach saban.

I think the thought, which turned out to be false, was that maybe a new face would be able to break through the corrosive locker room crap that was going on and/or cause some transfers out to remove the issue.

Possibly, but that doesn't sound like Saban to take on a legitimately bad player just to "throw a bone" to an OC. It's a wasted roster spot, scholarship, and reps for other legitimate players. But who knows, Saban may have done that for Rees.

No one knows but my guess would be that Rees wanted to run a more diverse offense and knew he couldn't with Milroe and clearly had some level of doubts about Ty for whatever reason.

Overall I think it ended up being a mistake and probably made whatever tensions existed worse.

The poll is over 90% for Ty, which is fine by me. The more curious question is, what happens if the starter named is anyone but Simpson? Even if Ty is running somewhat with the 2's after the Spring then he'd probably hit the portal. I am sure Coach would manage that as much as possible to keep him on campus but players know where they stand pretty much.

That's why I'd be shocked if we name a starter before summer.

Benching JM and starting Buchner was a huge collective "I Told You So" to all involved, IMO. CNS knew we were going to win that game regardless.

Rumor is Ty had 3Tds. Maybe all of them to Horton/maybe the only QB to throw a TD and maybe Russell as QB2.

Sorry for all the maybe's but I haven't seen a clear source just a bunch of people talking but it seems like a good sign for Ty
I think he is going to be Really Good.

I see him as having AJ’s kind of arm and Bryce’s legs and AJ/Mac’s mental toughness and competitiveness.
