It would seem this is a fairly obvious statement, but the position isn't just about experience alone. What happens when a guy comes along and he's lacking experience but his talent and ceiling are greater than the more experienced guys in front of him?
A few years ago, CNS valued "experience" in a QB above all else. That suddenly changed with Jalen and then Tua.
If for no other reason, this is why you can't just say "there's no way Bryce Young plays next year."
NOTE: obviously if Tua comes back he starts
There is definitely a chance Bryce wins the job. The odds are just against him.
1. As someone mentioned he's very small. No way can he hold up to a full year in the SEC unless he adds some bulk.
2. Mac knows the playbook and how to function at Alabama. He then played really well, outside of 2 throws, vs one of the better defenses he'll ever have to face. Unless Mac continues to turn the ball over in practice, A day, etc. It's going to be hard to beat him out because he's pretty solid.
It's just going to be VERY hard for a true freshman to beat Mac out. Heck, it'd be hard for a freshman Tua to beat out Mac.
