Question: Why do some men "grab themselves" when they walk?

I had to come up to the office today to pass out paychecks to about ten employees. As I've been waiting on them to arrive I've noticed something that has now begun to "puzzle me". I've been sitting here looking out my office window (which I can see out but from the outside you cannot see in) into the parking lot and have noticed a vast number of men coming in and out of the building grabbing or holding on to their crotch as they walk. I've sat here (while waiting on these employees to come in from their locations) and have witnessed about ten or twelve different men at different times doing this. Now I understand the occasional "adjustment" because as men we all know from time to time things need to be "adjusted". But this goes beyond "adjustment". This is full fledged "clutchin' and grabbin' " going on here.

Is it a primitive sign of dominance or trying to convey "toughness"? Or is this the new walk? BTW, this isn't teenagers I'm talking about. These guys appear to be in their mid to late 20's. :conf2:

is this a black thing, a latino thing, a white thing, or is it prevalent across racial lines. i ask bc if it is a black thing then they are simply idolizing chris rock and rappers. if it is latino then they are idolizing menudo and George Lopez. If it is white then they probably have a heat rash or gonorrhea. If it is across all races then they are probably just uncultured dumbasses.

With these baggy shorts they wear these days, they're probably just holding their pants up. I'm serious, there's a kid in my neighborhood that's about 6-1 and probably goes about 130, with those baggy britches he wears, he actually has to walk bow-legged to help keep them up. :ack2:
