Why is there a different American flag being displayed at the NCAAMCG and NCAAWCG?

They displayed a flag with 50 stars and another with less stars (I think around 18 stars). Anyone know why the change of flag? I never noticed this before.

From what I understand, the flag flying above the White House has women's stars at 88%. But they're still above the average. Leading the way, if you will.
