If Clemson had won the 2020 National Title Game they could make a reasonable claim that they had dethroned Alabama. But as it stands now Clemson is still knocking on Bama's door; both teams have two wins against the other in the current playoff format. Both teams have 2 National Titles the past 4 years. However Bama has 10 National Titles the past 10 years which continues to be the Gold Standard in BCS/Playoff College football. Thank you SEC West foe LSU. SEC & (specifically SEC West Division) now has 2 teams with Playoff National Titles (only conference with 2 Playoff National Titles). Is this not the best conference and division in college football?

Agreed. And it's probably more of a fan thing but the national perception is often shaped by the media and that would have been the narrative.
I couldn't pull for LSU during the game and I was hoping Clemson would shut 'em up.
But now that it's turning out the way it has, especially with what looks like LSU's success being pretty random and hard to replicate without Burrow and Brady leaving, I'm glad it happened the way it did.
I didn't care who won after we were eliminated. Just wanted to watch some good football. I don't care if other people succeed and flourish, it doesn't diminish what Alabama has accomplished in the past. It matters a bit for recruiting but that's basically it.
I'm not suffering from it. I would been extremely annoyed if Clemson had won because they would have back-to-back undefeated seasons with championships. The crowing from Clemson and the media would be unbearable. At least with LSU, it's quite possible a one and done for them.
I seem to remember some very credible posters saying the exact same thing once Deshaun Watson beat us in Tampa... The bigger issue is that we have to compete with LSU, and Oeaux is a proven recruiter that has became a coordinator's dream.
I say screw the rest of the SEC, but I guess it does help if the rest of the conference does well. To beat my SEC chest, it is the only conference to put 3 teams in the CFB Championship game. That said , Screw the rest of the SEC! Can’t stand those piece of crap fan bases!
