Given the changes in regards to the quickened passing game I’m going to say he’s better. He has accomplished similar results in an era where the five step drop IS the deep drop. Shotgun every formation, RPOs, and the evolution of the offensive play calling makes what he’s doing unparalleled. He just makes it look easy.He is the best since Derrick Thomas. I realize he does not play quite the same position. But I still count him as a traditional LB. I guess nowadays you call him an EDGE.
He should have been in New York for the Heisman. He probably should have won it. It is a sick joke that the guy from Michigan was. I saw someone on Twitter call him a Dollar Tree Bosa and I haven't laughed that much in years.
All that's true, but in DTs day, they didn't see nearly as many passing attempts in a game as what we have now, so Anderson has more opportunities. It's nearly impossible to compare across time due to changes in the game.Given the changes in regards to the quickened passing game I’m going to say he’s better. It's pretty close to the same. Back then we had odd position names like "Strike" and "Bandit" for the edge guys, but their roles were very much like the Jack and Sam of today. The SS was a "Rover" because that spot was really a smallish linebacker who could every once and a while act like a safety. He is the best since Derrick Thomas. Turner has the opportunity to be every bit as good as Anderson. Their first year stats are amazingly similar...Bryce and Will, could be number 1 and 2 pick next depending on need. Would be a record. Did Georgia offer him? It's unfair to compare players like this, but after this year how good is Dallas going to be compared to Will? 85 percent maybe , give or take.
We might well have the guys we need to occasionally put those guys on the same side and still have an outstanding pass rusher on the other side. A lot of defensive talent available. It'll still be tough to ever match DT's sack record. How about this in that this coming year, football season, we will have mr. anderson (best matrix voice) on one end with dt2 (dallas turner props to derek thomas hence the 2) on the other end at least until they line them up together on the same side. Talk about putting some fear in opposing o lines and creating issues with blocking schemes. Just gets me pumped and ready for the season. RTR
He is an absolutely fantastic football player, and he seems to be a very grounded and likable person, as well. In one video piece that I saw about his family, it seems that his sisters did a great job of helping him keep his head on straight. Having good people in your life helps you remain a good person, and I certainly hope that continues for Will.If he stays grounded he’s a future NFL HOF.
