Attack the press and be aggressive. Don't settle for just getting the ball across half court. The key is the first pass should not go to the point guard, but the 2nd pass vs the press should. After the initial trap, your primary ballhandler will have the ball and start the run out on the break.

While I generally agree with your post, the key to breaking the press is keeping the ball in the middle of the court. Out of the first trap, you can reverse the ball back to the middle of the court and then attack upcourt or attack the opposite side. Alabama has enough decent ball handlers that the PG shouldn't be the "only" option in breaking the press. Of course, this will depend on preparation and strategy.

This guy thinks it could happen.

The Tide will be fired up for the Vols and if the primary ball handlers that include Rico Pickett, Brandon Hollinger and Senario Hillman can handle the Tennessee pressure, Alabama has excellent finishers, starting with Richard Hendrix inside and Alonzo Gee and Mykal Riley on the wings. Keeping turnovers to a minimum is the key for the Tide to Roll!

Lofton had 28 in their last game, I think. Waking up just in time for us...

I agree. I'm afraid we will see the good Lofton tomorrow night. He made a few long threes at the end of the game at Kentucky and continued his good shooting against Georgia. It looks like he is back on his game.

Just left Moody, and about 4 Tennessee Basketball players were heading towards University, they started asking people what was going on tonight. Guess they aren't too worried about the game tomorrow either.

Well, just DAMN!, Alex. You should have seen your duty to take them out on the strip and get them wasted and stay up with them all night. Have you no school pride? :D

I'll be at the game, but I don't think we'll be on the winning end of it. Any time you need the opponent to have an "off night" to have a chance to win, it doesn't bode well for the good guys.

I'll be back for the LSU game on Saturday, I do like our chances of winning that one!

Our young guards seem to feed off each other, and Hillman puts surprising energy into his defense. The key: will they take care of the ball well enough for CMG to give them minutes?

Twin, you're right about Lofton. He's a step slower this year, and he looks really bulked up. Can any of the Vol fans offer insight?

Eyeshade and Twin,
I'm with you on Lofton. I was mystified as to how he seemed to be slow-motioning throughout the second half of the Kentucky game. Non-factor is an overused word, but that was definitely him in the second half of that game. Another key for Kentucky was the ferocious play of Patrick Patterson. Pounding it, putting it in and making his free throws. Can Richard do that tonite? Gotta hope so. Otherwise. we're done.
