Bottom of 6th: Giles singles between SS and 3rd, knocked down but no play. Safe at first. Dowling hits one to the track in left, but it's caught, 1 down. Jenna Johnson singles to right field, first and second for BAMA, 1 down. My kingdom for a dinger. Esman singles up the middle. Bases loaded for BAMA, 1 down. Valentine
What is the rationale for taking a hittable 1st strike? That just owns me.
I don't know but they've done it all year. Many times they look at two of them.

Valentine at the plate: Infield single, out at second, but can't complete double play. 2 down, 1 run scores. Heivilin singles to LF, run scores, now 6-4 Gators. BAMA has runners on 1st and 2nd. Lauren Johnson flies out to right field. Side retired. BAMA needs to hold them here to have a chance in the bottom of 7.

Well, we got half of it back. That will make our job a little easier in the 7th. Just gotta keep them off the board, and we have a shot

Bottom of 7th: Top of the order for BAMA. White grounds out to SS, 1 down. Larissa Preuitt hitting for Cahalan. And she K's on a pitch up and out. Line out to LF. Game over.

One thing we DID exhibit in this series- Warning Track power. Unfortunately while our hitters were driving it to the warning track for a long noisy out, our opponents were hitting them over the fence.

Made it much further than you should have, so be proud of the gals for their effort. They just didn't have it this year.
I think most everyone would agree. They played well beyond what could have been reasonably expected.
However, with Oklahoma and Texas coming into the league next year, in terms of offensive production, those teams are head and shoulders ahead of us…and Florida too for that matter.

I'm very proud of what the ladies accomplished this year. If you would have told me half way thru the year we would be in the WCWS, I would have probably laughed at you. But these ladies have a lot of heart, more than I've seen in many BAMA teams. The pitching got better and better, especially when both Beaver and Briski seemed to find their groove. Also, our defense got 100% better from earlier in the year. The pitching and defense helped us win a lot of games, because, against any of the better teams on our schedule, we did not hit near well enough to win. I'm just sitting here now thinking what could have possibly been had we had consistent hitting. I'm hoping Murphy will address that this offseason as this team had the heart to go further than they did. Congratulation ladies on an outstanding year.

I don’t understand Murphs decisions sometimes…😕😕😕
Neither do I. I'm still scratching my head over the pitching change. I also would not have pinch hit for Cahalan at the end. She's one of the few that actually makes consistent contact, and I thought she was due, especially after already seeing the Florida pitcher a couple of times. I kept hearing over and over how we were playing with house money, but I think these ladies could have made it at least to the semi-finals with better coaching decisions.

Florida was hitting the ball hard all game but our defense was up to the challenge. That play in centerfield by White, right after the homerun was magnificent. If she doesn't get that, Florida has another runner in scoring position. But, as you said, all warning track power usually gets you is "out"

Looks like the Gators have carried the hot bats from last night over to today. Thumping the Sooners 9-3 in the bottom of the 5th.

I don't really have an issue with the pitching change as much as I have an issue with pitching to Erickson. I would have walked her and loaded the bases. We got an out on the next play, so had we done that, we likely would have won the game.

I'm very happy we made the World Series, but it's a little frustrating because if we could hit, we may very well have made it to the national final with a shot to win the whole thing. I wish Greg Byrne would see that, and mandate hiring a proven hitting coach.

Florida takes a 9-3 lead into the 7th. They have two outs, but their pitcher has now walked the bases loaded. I'm glad we didn't have this umpire. Extremely tight strike zone. But the 4th girl flies out to the wall in right field. Gators win 9-3. Gators had 4 dingers against OU pitchers today, including 2 by Skylar Wallace. Florida had 10 total hits and force a winner take all game tomorrow. Another weather delay this morning pushes the deciding game to tomorrow.

Just read that Cahalan is transferring with two years left. Huge surprise as she’s started since day one and led the team with .296 average this year.
It does sound like Briski is staying and will become the new ace but we need to build a deep staff.

I'm curious....did Murphy KNOW she was leaving when he pinched her at that final at bat? It seemed to be a totally ridiculous call....
