This seems like an appropriate time for a thread to discuss the worst weather that Bama has played in. A few that I can remember:

Bama at Boston College (1983) - Freezing temps and snow
Bama vs Southern Miss (2001) - This was a make-up after the 9/11 event. It rained cats and dogs the entire game.
Bama vs Virgina Tech (1998) - Brutal cold and wet
Bama vs Auburn (2000) - Cold and wet.

Others?

There were 3.6 inches of snow at the 1964 Sugar Bowl, which helped cause 17 fumbles by Alabama and Ole Miss combined.

And I believe the 1966 Tennessee game was also a horrific quagmire IIRC (I wasn't around yet).

It should be noted that it rained buckets prior to the 1973 Sugar Bowl, too. It was so bad that ABC Sports Producer Roone Arledge actually suggested postponing the game, not realizing he didn't have that power.

The 1994 Alabama-Ole Miss game was paused at one point due to lightning.
And I think I read somewhere the weather was awful for the 1959 Liberty Bowl, which back then was played in Philly (not Memphis).

The 2000 Iron Bowl was awful rain, too.

Wasn’t the Iron Bowl that Fran phony coached his final game in miserable for that and the weather? IIRC, it was sleeting that day.

Freezing rain at that 2000 Iron Bowl which was the most dreadful game I’ve ever watched. 9-0 loss.

If you include heat, I thought I was going to absolutely die at the 2016 WKU game. I've heard similar tales of woe about 1990 USM and 2002 UGA.

Yeah, our church youth group attended a Carman concert in Tupelo (MS) that night, and we got caught in the bad weather in the church van. So glad the other guy was driving.

Also - it was colder than ice at the 1992 SECCG.

I was at the Bama-South Carolina game in 1992 and I believe it rained most, if not the entire, game. We won easily and I had a 2+ hour drive back home so I left shortly after the 4th quarter began.

The Bama-Houston game in 1997 was brutally hot. I sat in the topmost row in the north endzone and was miserable the entire game. There was a very pregnant girl a row or two down from us and she stood and cheered the entire game. We were in awe of her stamina given how hot it was.

No, I think you're thinking of Dubious's last game in 2000.

It was 58 and sunny in 2002.
It was barely above freezing and precipitation in 2000.

The 3-0 win over lsu in 1979 is another candidate for worst weather game. Great defense wasn’t the only reason for the win!

As for brutally hot, for me personally I’ll have to go with 2003 vs. South Florida - our final game at Legion Field.
