Would not be surprised to hear Richt getting fired soon.

I look for some schools to hold off on some firings because there will be so many programs looking for coaches. May want to wait another year. This year is going to be crazy.
You don't wait to make a move like that. You don't want your #1 choice to be in the first year of a new deal and try to pry him away.

I think, if you're the A.D., you absolutely have to consider the injuries this Georgia team has had. I know that Coach Richt has come up short in the big game more than a couple of times, but he's also put his team in a position to do great things.
Seriously though. Imagine our Bama team with our third team quarterback, and without Derrick Henry, and how good would we be?
Richt may indeed end up losing his job, but I think it would be a mistake Georgia would live to regret.

Ohio State did pretty good last year...

I'll bet you most of those 51 games are against ranked opponents!

He's not Nick Saban, without question, but since 2001, he's 141-51, won ten games or more nine times, and finished in the Top 10 seven times. If that get's you fired then I don't want to be the next coach at Georgia. :)

He's suffered injuries every year. Two questions need to be asked:

Why is it a common thing?
Why hasn't he gotten used to adjusting to the annual injuries?

He chose to bench his top two QBs and play Bauta. That's his fault. He's in charge of roster management.

He's 5-15 in his last 20 games against ranked opponents.

He continues to have the most talent of any team in the East, yet struggles to win the division.

Doubt he's fired, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him elsewhere in 2016.

I don't have a dog in the hunt really, but I consider Georgia to be somewhat of a sleeping giant. That program, with a top notch coach, could really be special.

Kinda hope they keep him around.

If you fire Richt you need to have a better one to replace him with. Who would it be? The emotional hire would be Kirby Smart. What name coach with a proven record can they get? There aren't any more like Saban or Meyer. I can't see Miles, Sweeny or Patterson going there.

Does anyone know how many SEC and National Championships Georgia won under Dooley?

I can only remember one National Championship.

They won the SEC from 1980-1982. Won the NC in 1980 and lost the de facto NC in the Sugar Bowl in 1981 and 1982. I don't believe Dooly won another SEC title after that. Seems like they won or shared an SEC championship in the mid to late 70s.
