Would you prefer Lane Kiffin to coach Bama over KD?

Ryan Grubb, JaMarcus Shepherd, Nick Sheridan, Chuck Morrell, Ron McKeefrey. Germie Bernard, Parker Brailsford, Josh Cueves, Austin Mack. CKD jumped at the chance to go to a better situation and more money, and walked out on a successful program after two years, taking substantial staff and players with him.
I went back to review the outrage thread about DeBoer raiding Washington as he left for Alabama, but wait, there wasn't one. Hmmm.
I'm not trying to say anything derogatory about CKD, just comparing left/right shoes. Any perceived/real flaws with Kiffin are unrelated to the personnel decisions they made as they changed jobs. While I have been a Kiffin supporter, I wouldn't want to boot DeBoer and replace him with Kiffin or anyone else at this point.

That’s way waaaaay different circumstances brother.

Washington’s final game was Jan 8th and CNS retired 2 days after that and only then did talks begin and 2 days later we hired CKD

We didn’t get prior notice of CNS’s retirement and then start Meddling with Washington’s Playoff run.

Everything we did was Post Season.

That’s nowhere near a 1:1 comparison.

Leaving Washington to come to Alabama is not synonomous with leaving a playoff eligible team for a failing and losing LSU. No one has an issue with Lane going to LSU. He is a grown man who like all of us has the right and ability to do what he feels is best for himself, his career, and his family. Lane leaving in the middle of a playoff run and basically quitting on his current team is where the issue lies. If this was his first time doing this it wouldn't be such an issue either, but we all know differently.

Again, my only point was a coach taking coaches and players with him to a new school. Not the why, when, how, or is he a nice guy.

Because the Salient point everyone is making is that the ‘Outrage’ is primarily tied to the timing of how this has gone down between OM and LSU.

Coaches and Players leaving a program AFTER the season is completed is completely different from leaving right on the cusp of a Playoff run with a NC on the line.

CKD left AFTER the season was over. Your comparison is apples to ice skates.

I'm not sure he can be blamed for leaving in the playoff run. He pushed HARD to be able to stay with the team and coach them through the playoffs. Ole Miss leadership are the ones who said no to him wanting to stay to coach.

Lane Kiffin in 1 tweet everyone:

That is the Flag emoji for Trinidad and Tobago followed by a Tiger emoji and evoking God and Religion.

The man is taking or trying to take or trolling that he’s taking Chambliss from OM to LSU and that it’s a Holy act.

If I woke up tomorrow to see that a crazy OM fan flew to BR and Decked Kiffin I’d look up how much it cost to post bail.

He is the ultimate scumbag.

Man was a little piece of crap he is.

I respectfully disagree!

The OM AD absolutely made the correct decision. Letting Kiffin roam the halls and recruiting players (and coaches) to his new program would have been entirely like him to do. It looks like he already did that with their blue-chip receiver that suddenly decommitted. (No doubt in my mind that that dude will be committing to the corn dogs in the near future.)

I doubt seriously that the players wanted him to remain anyways... 😎

I'm not sure what daily "devotional" he's reading, but there's nothing religious or Godly in "reform[ing] your entire life the way YOU really intend for it to be" (emphasis added).

On brand messaging or not it’s just such a cowardly scumbag type of action.

Kiffin torched his career in 2016 and finds himself at FAU and its Ole Miss who gives him the chance to rehabilitate his image and his career.

He to a degree had done that and has them on the precipice of maybe their best season ever and for sure in the modern day.

Blows the whole thing up before it can even be finished and knifes the program in the back and twists the knife trying to steal coaches and players in the process.

Then when emotions are their most raw he snatches the knife out throws salt in the wound and thrusts the knife back in as he implies on top of it that he’ll take their Star Player too.

AND does it under the guise of hiding behind a higher spiritual power as if he’s only doing what’s noble and holy.

I mean he’s really just a crappy crappy person down to his core.

It's their fault? So they should allow him to stay, poaching even more players and coaches (as he already has) because he wants to?

How about not accepting a job until you complete the task you agreed to lead your team to?

Coaching isn't just about wins and losses, what makes great coaches great is how they sculpt the character of their players. Lane has made it clear that he is one of the last people you would want teaching players about character, about finishing what you started, about what a team is.

My understanding is that there was not much difference between what Alabama offered and the UW contract given to him a couple of months earlier. That contract remained unsigned. Am I wrong?

IMO no way the powers that be at Bama give up early on CKD. Too much money and reputation invested in this hire. Probably the best we can do for the foreseeable future. That said, there are legitimate questions...
Will he win the big one? Why do his teams/ QBs tend to regress in November? How will he handle losing key asst. coaches (several came with him from Wash.)? Is he adapting to the players he has here or trying to make current players adapt to his scheme (Milroe last year and R Williams now for example)? IDK, but there is something about the man that doesn't instill a ton of confidence. At any rate, he is our coach and he is recruiting well. Perhaps one day the stars will align and Bama will return to glory. An SEC Championship is still there for the taking. I've got a feeling that no matter what happens Saturday, the CFP Committee will seed us badly or leave us out completely. I guess we only have ourselves to blame. ROLL TIDE!

No. Curt Cignetti? Yes. Other than that, I think DeBoer is as good as it gets for now. He's not a bad coach.
Exactly..My only complaint with our coaching staff, just run the dang ball, they'd be surprised how much it would open up our playbook completely..

It's scary just how good we could be on offense, if our coaching staff, committed fully to the run game & actually embraced it in our offense..
