wow, getting smoked out there

Just glancing at the online recap at secsports.com, it looks like we've had no more than 4 batters in any one inning. Either Arky's pitching has been terrific, or we left the bats on the bus.

yeah we left the bats and the gloves at home...it was much not to have been there...hopefully we'll get it together tonight and do better in the morning...

It really, really sucks when your designated hitter, who is supposed to be in there to HIT HIT HIT, has a strikeout and two very weak groundouts to the pitcher.

Avila should be DH, May at 3B and Texada at 2B. Much better hitting lineup and much better defensively.

Or, Vargas at DH. It worked the last time we faced Schmidt.

That's likely the last time we'll see Tommy pitch in an Alabama uniform. He's a draft-eligible sophomore and it's unlikely we have the pitching to go much further than Friday. He wasn't sharp, but even if he had been, it would have been tough.

Stroup goes tomorrow. Hyatt if we win, and I imagine then Quigley

yeah that's true but we're better off than a lot of people when it comes to dh and that includes Arkansas. Jeff McNutt hasn't gotten a hit against Alabama all year even in the two wins they have against us.

Jeff Nutt definitely can't touch our pitching (0 for 18), but he does a pretty solid job against the rest of the league (.333/.456/.544). I'd gladly take him on our team (although I'd probably rather have his former juco batterymate, Jake McCarter, back on the squad instead).

I'd take Jeff Nutt 100 times before I'd take the guy who started at DH for us yesterday morning. Not even close.
