It's amazing to me how a team will use a high pick on a QB, expect him to be the guy, but then not surround him with a good OL or WRs or even a complementary running game. Mac was getting battered and Bryce still is. I find it to be a bold strategy that doesn't work out for them.
Its an old conundrum. I think Galen Hall at Florida had the right idea. He was asked how he kept florida competitive even on probation. He said you had to build the team from both lines out. Does not matter if you have Dan Marino at qb and Walter Payton at rb. If you can't block for them, you ain't winning." Same things win that always won. You just have different excuses when you lose.
