Hey, Gang,
mrs. exiled & I roll out for Houston & M.D. Anderson Thursday 7/15 for my last cancer surgery (*knocks on wooden head*) The previous surgical scars have almost totally healed, which means it's time for some new ones. Gotta keep up the street cred & all...
Friday 7/16: appt w/ surgeon + anesthesia-related measurements
Sat. & Sun.: massive chilling + twiddling of thumbs in Houston...
Mon. 7/19: surgery @ O-dark-30 to remove this one very small spot of unkonwn origin that keeps lighting up the P.E.T. scans. It's on my rib rt @ the site of a previous cancer surgery two years ago. Nobody's VERY worried about it, but it's there. To quote the surgeon: "whatever it is, it'll be gone..." (when one is a stage IV metastatic melanoma survivor, anything that lights up the P.E.T. scan requires close scrutiny!)
Prolly in the hospital until Wed. & then back home.
If all goes as planned, this won't be a biggie (compared to my previous MDA experiences...). Still, your collective prayers are most welcome & appreciated!
Thanks much!
exiled/Mike
p.s. - "So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison..." 2 Cor 4:17-17
