Your window on the world? - Part 1

How drought tolerant is it? I put some centipede on my septic mound in Wewa. To be honest I'm not really happy with it. I need more to finish the job. Any advice? Thanks

If you don't have irrigation - perhaps Bahia would be your best choice (?) Not the most ornamental turfgrass but hard to beat in drought tolerance.

Not my window, but behind my house a paved trail here on Oak Mountain in Georgia. I don’t know who paved it or who maintains it. There are many paved trails here around Carrollton including an 18 mile continuous concrete paved Greenbelt encircling the City. My dog is a very gentle Aussie Shepard rescue named Ollie.

My latest foray into the world of gardening is "Holiday Cactus".

Meaning Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter Cactus....all different species and genera depending on who is doing the nomenclature.

I decided to set the nomenclature aside for now and focus on what varieties I am growing....and their flower color. Easier that way! :)

I have the Thanksgiving Cactus that was in Mom's assisted living room, given to her by a family member. It's been blooming nicely. But I also purchased some unrooted cuttings and some rooted cuttings....all different varieties.

The more I'm around people the more I like my plants! ;)

My wife has a couple of these plants - Thanksgiving and Christmas, IIRC - in our screened lanai. They seem to be in a sweet spot for sun and water because they are massive plants now and quite beautiful. :)

Was at Home Depot today to get a duplicate key for my Silverado. Just for the doors, because I just changed out the ignition assembly and so now have two different keys, but in the process I realized I didn't have a spare for the doors - so now I do.

While there.....I noticed they were selling nice fresh Mum and Daisy flowers for only $5 per bunch. I grabbed one to give to the ladies at the storage place where I have some storage units because they've been so helpful to me with various things.

I went in and caught them on their golf cart inside the facility and when I gave them the flowers was told it was one of their birthdays! Oh man......what timing huh?

They really are super nice and super helpful and probably should get flowers more often.

When you are wondering what to get someone to show your appreciation - hard to beat a nice bunch of fresh flowers. And a card with them never hurts!

It's the third Saturday of the month, so that means (if my wife is not working) we will take my MIL and visit the farmers market in our neighborhood. Always fun to support some of the local mom-and-pop entrepreneurs ...
