The world is mourning the loss of one of Hawaii's most iconic athletes. Akebono Taro, the renowned sumo legend has passed away. His family confirmed he died of heart failure earlier this month at a Tokyo hospital.

I could be mistaken, but I think Tom Gray is still alive and kickin' pickin' :)
thanks, my boss (also a banjo player) and i were talking about this yesterday trying to think through who was still around. gray is the one i couldn't remember from the original line up.

i only saw them for the first time a year after duffey passed, but got to see them several times afterwards with that lineup. they put on a great show. my dad liked them a lot, so i grew up hearing them a good bit.
