What is so naive about it? The SEC wasn't that great last year. It was a two team conference.
Look fella we are trying to like you so don't go screwing that up by running off at the mouth. Much more and lilhokie won't grow up to become bighokie on this board. Capisca?

While the ECU game was a really bad loss, most people don't remember how much of a tear ECU was on when they had Cotton as a LB. They were experienced we were not. It was the perfect time to catch us and they got a lucky break with a punt block to win. After that game they went on to OWN West Virginia. They didn't just beat West Virginia, they tore them apart. Then Cotton got hurt and things went downhill, but they still won their conference.
I am not a West Virginia fan either. I went to Charlotte to see them, and some drunk girl wanted to hit me for calling her Ellie May. I had to explain to her about the Clampets.:)
I do like VTech though. I like Beamers style, and I work with some VTech guys that reming me quite often how good VTech is. We actually gobble to each other. And yes I did pick the bad games to watch, but BAMA is way ahead of VTech at this point. Just My Opinion.

I would expect VA Tech to have a bit more respect for the SEC and especially Saban, considering how things ended up the last time you guys played a team full of his recruits. And when an ACC team stepped on the field with us last year, all thunder and lightning in the previews, we broke them over our knee so severely that their head coach limped over and begged Saban for advice after the game. So if you're arguing that the ACC showed more parity than our conference last year, such a series of recent embarrassments does nothing to convince me of your conference's strength.
Haha Clemson has never been all that great. I don't really know where all this thunder and lighting crap comes from. They placed us twice and both of them looked like duds both times. Clemson folds when they play anyone any good.

Last time we played Saben was LSU 02 where the tigers came and died. Like I said earlier about LSU 07, you can't take anything away from what happenend in the first half of 2007. It wasn't fair to the players how the media put the burden of the school on their backs. It wasn't until the Clemson game that they really shook all of that off.

Fair enough. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. To be perfectly honest, you can't really tell where we are unless you watched the very end of last season. We had so much talent leaving after 2007 that it wasn't possible to quickly recover.

Haha...At least I am throwing you in as one of the two teams. That makes it better right?

What a load of crock. You guys started the year 6-1 in 2007 (beating ECU, UNC, Clemson, and running up the score just fine on crappy teams), so don't try to excuse how LSU manhandled you by arguing that the team was too sad/overhyped to play. It's obvious that while you guys were good enough to beat other ACC teams, Miles' squad was simply well out of your league.

You obviously didn't watch those games. We barely won that game against ECU. It was WAY too close for comfort. I can't stress enough how horrible we looked that game. If it wasn't for a 10 yard Macho pick 6 we probably would have lost. The only team we really beat by a lot is IAA Bill and Buffy. UNC was horrible in 2007. They really only got good last year. Ohio was a joke and they still played us tight until the 4th quarter. Clemson was the first game we actually looked good.

True, and Beamer is a good coach. He actually coached those kids up. In my opinion. But BAMA is the real deal. VTech is really my #3 team. I like BAMA, then UNC, then VTech. I like BAMA for too many reasons to list. I like UNC, because I live close by, so that is my adopted ACC team, and then VTech. I have some good friends from there.
Beamer ball is good, but this Saban team is the real deal.

That is interesting. I lived close to UGA for most of my life and that caused me to hate them. Interesting how proximity actually caused you to become a fan.

You clearly have your pile of excuses handy. I remember those days when we had to do the same in conversations with rivals, since our on-the-field performance couldn't speak for itself.

Yeah 16 straight bowls really sucks
3 conference titles in 5 years is horrible
We should be ashamed of 5 straight 10 win seasons
putting 13 players in the NFL in 2008 is so bad.
I guess we just suck.

Wait a second. Are you accusing me of making excuses when I was telling you how bad we looked against bad teams? Isn't that like the opposite of excuse making?

Only excuse I have is for the start of 2007. No one should have to do what that team was expected to do.
