Hmmm. maybe someone should point out that a current NFL salary would probably cover the cost of a post graduate degree....

Anyway, doesn't sound like your typical JUCO guy. Can't wait to get that Masters!! Awesome. I mean you need a backup plan for when you burn through all those millions, right?

I am assuming that he is going to JUCO because he didnt academically qualify for college by the NCAA Clearing House. I wonder if the coaches explained to him that the sliding scale to get into an undergrad program which I might assume he couldn't get what he needed, is not what is looked at by a Graduate school. He might make the academic cut for school now if he is transferring in, but the GRE or GMAT is not the same as the ACT or SAT and the usual minimum GPA requirment for entrance is well above the non-athletic GPA requirment to be accepted as a undergrad. These players will bite on anything they are told. Good luck I guess sounds like he might need it because he has no clue.

I have no idea but if it is legal then why is Bama not offering the same thing?

If anybody knows the difference then maybe they can also explain the difference between the Auburn Sociology course give away to football players and the Alabama textbook fiasco? I would think the bigger advantage to the player would be the give away no attendance required sociology course.

Really nothing. But there is nothing an athletic program can do to guarantee a graduate school admission.

It's a different sport, but take Alabama men's cross country. Last year, there were a couple guys that had an extra year of eligibility (you get 5 years to complete 4), but they had finished their undergraduate degrees in four years. The two guys (I'm pretty sure it was two) both applied for UA graduate school (and got in) in order to continue running for Alabama for one more year.

An athletic scholarship can continue for graduate school (assuming that's what the coach wants to do) as long as the athlete in question has eligibility remaining to compete and gets into the graduate school.
