Question: Why did Vern stumble-quist say that about Ingram's father?

Today had to be the worst Vern spit-iquist and Larry Danielson did calling a game. If it wasn't Orlando McClain, it was calling us Florida, Tennesse or Donte Stallworth.

But the one thing that chapped my hide was the way Vern conveniently slipped in and mentioned that Mark's dad is incarcerated. Why was this information necessary and how did it bring anything to the game? It wasn't like Adrian Peterson where he agreed to do a segment before one of the OU games about his family situation. Vern is there to call a football game not disclose to the world that a football player's dad is incarcerated. That ticked me off. :mad2:

I'll pile on a bit regarding CBS. Did anyone notice that "in the studio" with Tim Brando, et al, they had our logo on the front of the table backwards?

How in the world do you mess that up? And you're telling me that no one in the booth noticed?

If someone can provide an address or an email address to CBS I dang sure plan on contacting them. That was uncalled for and classless. It's bad enough the two bumbling idiots more times than not can't even properly pronounce half our player's names or even call us the right team. :mad2:

You know, I kept waiting for him to come back to it - to provide some sort of feel good story that would make the comment make sense. He never did. He just dropped the bomb and walked away.

They also took shots at McElroy at the beginning of the show (before kickoff) about how he ended up at Bama (second choice after we failed to get Tebow).

I have no idea why I listen at all. They make me want to kick in my screen sometimes...

Though the missing names has always been annoying, talking about Ingram and bringing up his father in that fashion was in very poor taste. That has nothing to do with the game, just leave it alone. Why can't these guys just stick to calling a game, your not going to impress anyone with your off the cuff comments, just talk about the game at hand. It does not seem like that hard of a concept.
