Brandon Spikes THUG Play vs UGA

Spikes should be suspended by the league for good. If Slive lets this just slip by, he will lose all respect and control. This was simply a blatant thug move, with the intent of doing serious damage to the eyes of the Georgia player. I would assume there will be an assault charge filed by the Georgia player and that SpikeS will be arrested soon. Just because it's on a football field, you can't justify this type of brutality. I wonder what Meyer would do if Spikes tried to gouge out Tebow's eyeballs in practice?
 
In the whole scheme of things: Florida; IMO has one "real" game left; the SEC Champ Game.... Suspending him for Vandy is only a benefit to the gators. Bottom line: Suspend him rest of year/ including SECG and if they make it the NC; JMHO!

IMO If Myers suspends Spikes for one game the SEC should accept it and move on. If Myers does nothing the SEC should step in and suspend Spikes for a minimum of two games to send a message to the players and coaches.
 
It's simple. What's not unacceptable is acceptable. If Urban doesn't do anything, he considers this acceptable. If the SEC doesn't do anything, it considers this acceptable. If the NCAA doesn't do anything, it considers this acceptable. If journalists don't report this, they consider it acceptable.

Words mean nothing-dot-squat. Actions matter.

I just saw the replay on SportsCenter. Spikes should definitely be suspended for a game. That was ridiculous.
 
Well after watching the video about 10 times it is obvious for one that he is going for the kids eyes... He even look down and makes sure he is inside the face mask before jamming them deeper..... Anyone saying he is going for the ball is an idiot and a liar just watch his face and he is looking at EXACTLY what he is doing......
On that note suspending him for the season is the only option and I do not care who he plays for because even if it was Ro Mac I would say the same thing.. I know many of us have played and yea we all know what goes on at the bottom of the pile but never in my years of playing did I go for a guys eyes..
My thoughts were give the guy an extra elbow or try and get after his ribs but the EYES now that's just down right dirty even for a "thug"... I am sure meyers serious talk will suffice for the SEC on this they will not mess with their golden boy but wouldn't it be something if someone tried to do that to tebow?????????????????

Doesn't Ingram now where a shield on his facemask? I don't think he wore one last year - maybe he added it after playing the gators....

My gator fan bro-in-law, likely excuse: "georgia was gouging tebows and spikes eyes" told him, well if true all that proves is UG has thugs too, but easy to just throw stuff like that out there with no proof.

also said you know what happens at the bottom of the pile? well this shouldn't' happen if it does - but this was not the bottom of a pile. The play was dead, spikes wasn't going for the ball, he wasn't at the bottom of a pile, he was standing up, and did this intentionally. I know what they say - just because it's football, doesn't mean everything is acceptable. You don't go for someones eyes. and if you get caught on camera doing it, there should be consequences - maybe it will stop some of it.

Every time I'm watching a game with my bro-in-law i let him know how much a THUG Spikes is (from what i saw of him live in person from last year's SEC Champ. game) - so thanks for going ahead and proving me right Spikes.

Now that everyone in the world knows about it, if they don't suspend him, they are saying it's ok. UM should not handle this with some kind of supposedly 'serious talk' puuhlease.
 
Football is a violent game. Just playing it hurts - a lot. Every player on the field, except possibly the punter/kicker, gets "hurt" (as opposed to "injured"), to one degree or another, in every game. But that there is just sadism. Inflicting pain for the sake of inflicting pain.

His season should be over.

Seems the same to me, dirty on both counts. JMO.
