You may recall that U Meyer was hospitalized immediately following the SECCG. He has an issue with something in his head/brain. He was released from the hospital after a few days and it was reported that he has had a medical issue with his head/brain/skull that they had known about for some time. They didn't clarify if it was an aneurism, or exactly what it was. It's one thing to have health issues, it is entirely something else to hav a health issue that has to do with your brain.

That's really too bad. Meyer is a fine coach. He is in my top three along with Pete Carroll and, of course, Nick Saban. I wish him and his family the very best. This a dark day not only for Florida, but also the SEC and CFB in general.

1. All the best to him and his family. If he has a serious issue (and, on this, I'll take him at his word), putting his familuy first is the right choice.

2. What a weird Sugar Bowl this will be. One team with a temporary coach who is leaving after the game and the other team not wanting to be there with a coach who is leaving.

3. Who is next at Florida? Charlie Strong would have been the likely choice, but this came a month too late. The only "name" coach that comes to mind with head coaching experience is Franchione. Surely, not...
