Just wondering...almost everything about the combine on most of the sports sites is premium content.
Nothing really going on yet. Just measuring Kickers & Linemen on yesterday. Early this morning the QBs & WRs got measured. Scouts are excited about Sam Bradford being 236 lbs of solid muscle. I'll keep you up to date with as much as I can. Are you looking for information on Alabama players, SEC players, or just the combine in general?

Watching the combine on tv is worse that watching paint dry. Its prob pretty cool in person, but on tv is another story.

Biggest headline so far is Tebow is not going to throw but he will particpate in drills. He is supposed to be working on a new throwing motion and will wait for the Gator Pro Day to unveil it with Gator WR's who probably won't drop a ball.

Other than that, it's pretty much the same old stuff until they actually hit the field. I am sure that there will be some good storylines today when they start benching.

Here's an interesting breakdown of the number of players from each state, conference, and team.

Scout.com: Breaking Down The 2010 NFL Combine

I was surprised to see that the state of Alabama does not seem to produce many players that get invited to the combine.
Next year, you'll probably see more from Alabama. The juniors from the 2008 recruiting class will be eligible next year and that was one of the best crops of high school talent out of Alabama in recent memory.

I've been looking for measurements on Cody, and Mike Johnson, but couldn't find any, you sure they got measured yesterday?

Just wondering about Bama players in particular. ESPN, SI and the other sites make all the interesting topics insider only.

More interesting would be the percentage of each. 86 two-star players were invited but what percent of total two-star players is that. If 20% of the five-star players were invited and only 1% of two-star players then it would make sense. Numbers alone without context are not worth much.

Not really. Think about how many players actually get rated five star. 35 would be about right in any given year.

Exactly.

Each year there are approximately 60 five-star prospects. There are usually about 325 four-star prospects. And then there are approximately 5,000 prospects rated as three-stars and lower.

Understand those numbers now?
