I hope Georgia wins the rest of their games this season, and Richt saves his job! Otherwise they come after Kirby Smart.

You guys will be really disappointed when this happens but eventually Kirby will be leaving whether it be Georgia or someone else. It will probably be this year.
Agree. I want Bama's Assistant Coaches to leave for better positions at some point. We shouldn't begrudge it; it means they're good and deserve the shot at a higher position. Heck, if they're not desired by other schools, that's a message in itself.

Warrants have been issued for every player: They are charged with impersonating a football team. :)

That's good stuff. Even Georgia fans would have to laugh. Through tears.

Who's side are you on? JK, but that sounded like you won't be disappointed.

Yes I will be, but when other teams come after your assistants that means you're doing something right. I remember desperately wishing someone would try to hire Bob Connelly.

Or "Black out" games.
Speaking of blackout (redout games)(redout games usually are sponsored by visine for the crying jag afterwards).....
Seems UGA has been in a tailspin ever since the blackout game against Bama in ‘08. They were ranked pretty high up ’til then and boom, the bottom seemed to drop out. It seems to be a recurring theme with teams after a beat down from Bama. Tubberville fired, T. Bowden fired, Richt on the cusp, Croome fired, Vandy's coach retires just before the season and we haven't played them for a while. Fulmer fired, Kiffen bailed, Urban has heart palpitations and retires briefly, Les Miles is on the hot seat if he can’t beat Bama this year, Nutt was fired from The Hogs and will soon be put out to pasture by the Ole Miss faithful. Bobby Bowden was fired and Bama don’t even play FSU.
Nick Saban has changed the landscape of college football. The other coaches in the conference even had to make up The Saban Rule to limit a HCs contact with recruits and that didn’t stop him. He’s set the bar too high for lesser coaches and talent evaluators and they’re starting to fall one by one. Look for what happened in the wake of Bear Bryant’s success. He put more of his assistants into HC positions in college football than any other coach ever. Look for guys like Muschamp, Smart and McElwaine to start getting major offers from D-1 schools. This might help level the playing field some more, but just keep in mind, the master doesn’t tell all of his secrets, Grasshopper…….

Quite frankly, this is beyond embarrassing for UGA. It exposes the entire chain of command, from the President of the university all the way down to the assistant coaches, for their utter inability to run a program, hold players (and themselves accountable), and do what is necessary to right the situation.

They will not be able to command an ounce of respect until there's a major housecleaning, top to bottom. If I were a major donor to UGA I'd be doing everything I could do to get my peers to shut down the money flow in an effort to force a change. Won't happen, but surely someone somehow will find a way to stop the bleeding for UGA.

UGA football player Baker arrested | UGA sports blog

Final straw for Mark Richt? I bet the player gets dismissed. Totally lost control of the program.
“We have had too much in the football team,” Adams said later. “And so we expect the coaches and the AD’s to provide role models and leadership for their players, and I told the whole Athletic Association staff that.”
The AD was a role model and the players are following suit. :rolleye2:

I think they'll go after Muschamp (sp?). Kirby's still a little too young.
If Muschamp's defenses keep giving up over 200 yards of rushing to any team with a decent running game, he may not be so desirable. I wonder if Texas fans still think their run defense is great. Stats can often be misleading. Texas had the number one run defense last year and this year because they never play anyone who can run the ball. We ran all over them. UCLA ran all over them. Wait, wait just a minute, did they have any defensive players who were knocked out of the ballgame? IF they did, everything that happened after that doesn't count.

If Richt is canned, and Georgia misses on several other canidates, I think Smart becomes a serious target for the 'Dawgs. However, I doubt the new Georgia AD is going to try and hire a coordinator, considering the position the program is in right now. With Florida light years ahead of them, South Carolina passing them, and you know Tennessee won't be down forever (not to mention Kentucky having consistency), they'll most likely go after an experienced head coach.

I don't set myself up to be disappointed because someone will offer Kirby a head coaching job soon. It is a matter of life and knowing that good things happen to good people. What good does it do to get worked up if Kirby or another assistant coach leaves for greener pastures?

The D will still be good as long as Coach Saban still on the Bama sideline. For that matter, most of the time the D has been good regardless who has been the D Coordinator after their system was put in place.
