Game Thread: **OFFICIAL**Alabama vs Tennessee POST-game thread

Great to have a butt-whuppin tyoe of win, especially over UT. After seeing last weeks game, I was worried that we wouldnt bring the intensity. But we picked it up a great deal from the last two weeks. I am glad I have a week to not have to worry about it. And glad the team gets to rest too.

On the post game: "I had an NFL scout tell me today that their starting RB would be 3rd or 4th string for Alabama."

All the more reason our O should be dominating.

I'm on the shuttle bus back to Gatlinburg...the blowout makes the trip so much more enjoyable and the trip back to Cleveland.

Random thoughts:

JUlio...wow.

Tennessee fans...ran mouths until half...at which time most around me left after the td.

I only like rammer hammer after ut and aub wins....it sounded great:D

Well we had our schizo moments, mainly in the 1st half but finally found some consistency on offense. Still have concerns on defense, ie. lack of pressure, giving up too many 10 yd plays allowing teams to drive it on them, and not catching those int's when they hit the db's & lbr's in their hands. Liked seeing some intensity on defense though, they played fast and hit hard. Milliner, Dareus and Jones made some nice plays.
Offense put on a show in the second half, and played like we knew they could, but they just need to keep it up and do it for 60 minutes. Can't afford slow starts against better teams. Thought the coaching staff did a nice job getting our best players involved throughout the game and called a nice balance attack in the 2nd half especially. Chemistry looked better in this one.
JJ gets the game ball imo, very impressive game for him.

Very good assessment. I was happy to see the picks after several missed opportunities in a row. Tennessee is poorly coached and I would go as far to say that Mike Shula, a similar coach, had a better staff than Tennessee does right now. Joe Kines had an awkward first year but I believe is a better coach than anyone on that staff. 4th and long and all.

We looked like ourselves again as the night progressed. I hope that we can build off of it and gain confidence and chemistry after a rough couple of games.

I did expect a loss or two this year with our schedule. Next year we will be a more dominating team from start to finish.

I've been saying for over a year that Julio is the most under-utilized player in College Football. Tonight, he showed what happens if you throw it his way 15 times a game... Domination. Glad to see the offense FINALLY open it up. This was a HUGE step in the right direction. They need to keep throwing the ball to Julio.

Concur. The talent is there to road grate just about anybody we play. We've got the best two running backs in the country. There's no excuse for us not to be able to run the ball.

Thought you mentioned the lack of physicality by the OL (an opinion I agree with from the first half performance). Our RBs didn't get holes until the 2nd half and I think there are 2 reasons: (1) OL stepped up and played more physical and (2) our vertical passing game was working and the Vols had to respect it a bit more and not sell out to stop the run. We tried pounding in the first quarter with our short routes, but once the DBs couldn't sit on the short routes b/c we were hitting the deep ball, our running game got going.

The off week should help with the physicality b/c we'll be fresher. But opposing teams will still sell out to stop the run and we need to make them pay with the passing game like we did tonight.

Yeah, I did and there's no excuse for it. The physical talent is there to run the ball. The OL and the RB's are some of the most talented in the country.

Great overall score and result but we definitely have some work to do when it comes to picking up the blitz and stopping stunts - something Auburn likes to do a lot, my cousin pointed out to me.

McElroy gets my game ball tonight. He took hit after hit and stayed in there and made the throws we needed.Always great to beat Tennessee. They will be back someday but I hope that day is along way off.

Missed most of the game but came in with a few min left in the 3rd. 1st look when I turned on the TV was the grass stain on GMac's back ! Can't wait to watch DVR...sounds like we pulled it together after the half.

Just skip the 1st half & watch the 2nd...it was a lot less frustrating.;)

I can eat crow. I expected another ugly win but this was a pretty solid effort and several players shined. They can build off this win and come out hitting on all cylinders again for the home stretch. I'm not afraid of Cam Newton and Auburn.

Crow Creole

Ingredients
2 medium onions
2 fresh chilies chopped
2 ribs celery
3 cloves garlic minced
¼ pound butter
16oz. chicken broth
1 can whole tomatoes
1 small can tomato paste
8oz. ketchup
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
1/2 tablespoons garlic sauce
1/4 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 pound (12 pieces, or so) crow breast chopped into bite-sized pieces
Preparation
Brown the crow breasts in a skillet with butter or oil. When browned, place them in a Sauté onion, celery, chilies and garlic in butter until tender. Add the above ingredients and all of the remaining ingredients to a crock pot and cook on low for 6-7 hours.

To serve, heap about 1 cup of rice in the center of the plate, and ladle a generous amount of the sauce around it. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

Great win and much needed by the boys in Crimson. Our team really started clicking in the 2nd half. We just need to remember, this UT team is not very good and it should not come as a surprise for us to wear them down and step on their throat as the game wore on.

We still have a lot of work to do if we want to have a chance at running the table, expecially on defense. Still giving up too many passing yards for some reason. Fortunately, the three or four times that Tennessee drove down to a scoring position, we found a way to stop them or they stopped themselves. But, we will not have that luxury if we allow the barn to drive to the red zone. They are not going to stall out on every drive when they smell blood. We have to get better at stopping these drives if we are going to get to the SECCG. Maybe the problem is that we are banged up and need a rest, but I don't think it is that simple. With so much youth on defense, perhaps I am expecting too much.

One really long word, and not a lot of analysis. JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
