Call me a minority then, but I'd pull for Auburn. Well, not exactly. I mean, I hate LSU worse than I've ever hated Auburn (long story). My mom was a childhood chum of Bobby Hunt and Dave Hill (who played for the Barn back in the early 1960s).

I guess I'd say I'd pull against Boise but not really root "for" Auburn.

Most of the arguments here don't make much sense to me. But let's take a few of them.

1) Somebody said that a national championship helps recruiting. Well if that's the case then we ought to snow them this year and make it a moot question since we are the defending champs. Oh, but you say, you don't see the results of recruiting for two years. Fair enough - then we still ought to beat them next year and the following one.

2) "I live with them and would have to hear it every day."

Yes. For ONE YEAR. That's all. And then you're back on top no matter what. Why? Because when Auburn fan says, "We won the 2010 title," you say, "You know, I remember a lot of titles we won. 78 was my favorite, but you know, it's just hard when you've got 13 to think through and 5 or 6 you remember so vividly. There was Rocky Block and Teague Stole The Ball and the Goal Line Stand."

3) The absolute LAST thing I want is the Boise clan suddenly getting delusions of adequacy. It would never end. "We're better than the SEC because we beat their best team!" And then guess what? They'd never play the SEC again unless it was a title game because they'd need to hold onto that boast.

I do think some intelligent Tide fans get emotional on Auburn to the point of irrationality. But I was the one who asked the question.

I thought about it for awhile and many of the objections to either school here are points I thought of.

Of course - I probably wouldn't watch the game anyway.

I DO, think, however that Boise would win. Auburn's pass defense is terrible and guess what Boise does best (other than talk trash)?

I compare Boise's schedule to a guy who has a car that he only drives on country roads on sunny days, while everyone else drives their car in heavy traffic everyday. At the end of the year the sunny day car wins a car show against the others. It doesn't mean it's the better car; it just didn't operate under the same circumstances as it's competition. Same in the bowl game at the end of the year. The win wouldn't prove much. With that said, in this scenario I feel strongly that Auburn wins and I'd pull for them. If BAMA can't win it, I have no problem with someone else in the state or conference bringing it home. If I expect to receive credit(whether received or not), I should be willing to give it also. They're good. They're very good. We are too. I hope we beat them silly.

I would have to go for BSU. That way the love fest will be over, the pollsters will no longer think it fashionable to vote for them. They will fall into obscurity and be a great trivia question in the year 2019. (who was the only non SEC team to win the BCS in the last ten years?)

Boise State easily. And no worries...they would win. Auburn is just not a complete team this year, Kellen Moore would put at least fifty on them. Auburn only has one national championship. We could never use that against them again. BarnNation would be ridiculously happy, we'd never hear the end of it. Auburn's recruiting would get a boost and may overtake ours, remember we're going to be going for a lot of the same prospects. We'd hear how Chizik is the best coach in college football, how he won a MNC his second year and how their AD is a genius. Screw "SEC dominance." Anyone who wants Auburn to win is not a true Alabama fan...we just came off our best season ever, only to have them outdo us? I don't think so.

Uh...........I suddenly feel ill. The thought of it happening.................ugh.

OK, what if they played Oregon? I think they could hang 70 on the 'barners. That might be good entertainment.

I literally laughed out loud when I read this. I was thinking the same thing on the way to work this morning. I dismissed it quickly, though, with the confidence that we'll be the team to beat Auburn. My thoughts on that have not waivered since the beginning of the season. (FYI: Apparently, Vegas agrees with me. despite what the BCS and the polls say,as of today, Bama's still the favorite in Vegas to win this year's BCS National Championship. I like those odds).

It won't come down to Auburn & Boise, but if it did, a nightmare scenario is a perfect description.

First off, I probably wouldn't watch it. Not sure which makes me more nauseus, the salivating over Boise or the oggling over Cam Newton.

If Boise somehow were to win, it would be not only an embarressment to the SEC and the state of Alabama, but it would be a swift kick in the groin to the old guard of the NCAA. And if the old guard were sending their best to take on the new guard, Auburn isn't the team I'd want to send. (For you WWE fans, think back to when they played the angle of ECW & WCW invading the WWF/E. They sent their best to represent them: The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Undertaker, etc. You don't send the middle card fighters who happen to be on a hot streak.)

But if Auburn were to somehow win, I wouldn't be able to listen to sports talk radio for at least a year!! Tony Kurre, on the Opening Drive this morning, said that this past Saturday night, he called one of his friends (who's an Auburn fan) and the first thing his friend said was, "Man, Alabama's losing 7 to nothing!". And he said that his response was, "Dude, your team just won probably the biggest game in recent history and you're probably gonna be #1 and all you're concerned about is Alabama?" That perfectly explains that contingent of the Auburn faithful. Other than rooting for the wrong school, I know that there are rational Auburn fans. But that particular contingentis the loudest and they have that little brother syndrome. No matter what they accomplish, they'll find some kind of way to make it about Alabama. **shaking my head**

Yeah...that matchup would be a very bad thing. Good thing it won't be happening though.

I will NEVER root for the boogs- I don't care who they are playing and what's a stake. As the saying goes: My 2 fav teams are Bama and whoever is playing the boogers!

Boise hands down. I dont feel any particular loyalty to the opponents in the SEC. I know Aubs werent pulling for us last year. Plus it would be great to be able to say they dropped the ball for the big boys.

I wasn't aware that Auburn was fielding a team this year. All I have heard from the Barners I know is about how great Cam is. So in a game of Cam vs Boise??? I'd have to pull for Boise just because of the way the Barners all became Long Horn fans last year.

I would pull for Auburn.

SEC needs to always dominate other conferences in every possible arena.

Besides, API will never be able to catch up to our numbers regarding championships. I don't care one iota about them getting one if they've earned it.

It's not gonna happen. Auburn will screw it up somehow. It's Auburn we are talking about...for crying out loud. Furthermore, it is nearly impossible for Auburn to make the BCS championship game, especially with an impending loss on the day after Thanksgiving.
