Final score from Thompson-Boling Arena: University of Indianapolis (Division II) 79, No. 23 Tennessee 64

This isn't as big a deal in basketball. But I don't see this thing ending well with Bruce Pearl. He already has that situation hanging over his head. Embarrassing losses surely won't help his cause.

You beat me to it WMack. Listening to the Vols post game show on the car radio did cheer me up a little after our loss at Red Stick this weekend.

I'm not sure if Pearl can right the ship in Knoxville now. It appears as though he'll be carrying too much baggage.

We almost did. Bama 73 UAH 68 in Double OT

From the game recap on rolltide.com, the starters were in the whole way too...

Of course Syracuse lost to Lemoyne last year in exhibition and went onto to have a stint as the #1 team in the country, but this score is strangely lopsided. Hopefully this will be the start of me not having to hear the "Pearl is great" party line from my Knoxville friends anymore. ;)

UAH is D-II, but they are stacked and one of the best D-II teams in the US.

It shouldn't matter but I understand Bama is still on the way up and basketball games can get streaky.

I don't know how coaches for UT or UA approached these exhibitioin games. Sometimes coaches do some experimenting or try to emphasize certain things during the game which aren't necessarily focused on winning.

"Right the ship"? Are you kidding? He'll be lucky to have a job when the NCAA gets done with them. You don't lie to the NCAA and get away with it. Personally, I think he's gone, and he knows it. Too bad, too, because he's a decent coach. He just let his own ambitions get the best of him and got caught up in it.

Well, his two early period recruits signed their LOIs which might be a sign they've received assurance he'll be around. Their are a couple flaws with that thought though...

As for it being "too bad," I disagree. He redefines the word "sleazy."
