I'm getting a good feeling that Bama will beat the barn

Call it a hunch, but I feel a lot better today about it.

I thought our defense played much better tonight and was flying to the ball. They seemed to play with more energy.

This also may be a time when the bye week may hurt the barn. They're going to have to deal with two weeks of swirling and intense allegations.

I hope so. I really hope so. In the grand scheme of things, our program is in much better shape than theirs. And this will bear itself out over time. But if ever there was a game I want us to win, it's this one.

I want the smuggness wiped off of their arrogant faces. Fans and Cam. I want payback for '89. I want payback for '02. It's our turn to ruin their season.

Football games are won and lost on the line of scrimmage. I hate to be the Debbie Downer but I've seen absolutely nothing about our offensive and defensive lines that indicates to me that we can stop them offensively or stop Nick Fairly and #94 from absolutely abusing the middle of our OL.

I hope I'm wrong but this game could get ugly, very ugly.

Wow.

Well, my coaching philosophy is always never go into the battle with the thought of coming in second, no matter what. And, above all else...believe.

Some of you can throw in the towel if you like. For me, I choose to believe in the Tide. There's still two weeks to the game.

I just have to believe. I'm too full of Bama.

Nobody's throwing in the towel. I'm a fan not a player so I'm not playing in the game. Nor am I a coach and will not be coaching in this game. I'm basing my opinion on what I've seen for the majority of this year. If Bama corrects these things for the Iron Bowl I think we'll win. If not then I think we'll get the brakes beat off us. Pretty simple and realistic perspective.

Being "Too full of Bama" for the reason you're having a "good feeling" is just an emotional prediction. I'm going by what we've actually done on the field.

I'm gonna have to agree with you here. We have the best skill players in all of college football (it doesn't come better than Ingram, Richardson, Julio, and Maze), but our OL is simply not getting it done. We can't run the ball for anything. When was the last time we got a nice five-yard gain? And our DL gets no pressure, and we are very poor tacklers. Oregon may outscore Auburn in the BCSNCG, but other than that I don't see anyone beating them. Their offense is just too good.

If we are going to beat the barn, the O line and D line are going to have to step up their play BIG time. I just don't know if the have it in them, but I'm hoping. We shall see.

I know that we can get a push on their DL, its just a question of our OL firing off the ball with purpose. Julio can eat their secondary for lunch if GMac will put it up and let him get it. Besides Fairly, the AU secondary is the next best cheap shot artist on the team. I have a feeling that we'll see alot of TR in that game. Would love some Fowler added in.

It doesn't matter whether you "believe" or not, because Vandy can "believe" they're capable of beating the Patriots or Colts all they want, but let's face it, there's no way in heck that will ever happen.

It will take a miracle for us to pull this off and if the same defense that showed up against Arkansas, South Carolina, and LSU comes out of the tunnel, then we're in trouble.

The bye week doesn't help matters at all either and you must also factor Aubarn will play harder in this game, than they will in the BCSNC game.

To win, we're going to have to score TOUCHDOWNS on every offensive possession, and I emphasized touchdowns because field goals just won't cut against the Aubarn offense, better known as $cam Newtron, and Head Coach, Gus Malzahn.

What scares me the most, offensively at least, is how weak our line is and the fact that McElroy has been knocked around all year long. In case you didn't notice today, Murray avoided A LOT of sacks, because he acted swiftly, and he was quick to spin his way out of a would-be sack. McElroy is just the opposite. He's going to straight up take it and I don't like that.

Maybe we can pull it off. You can call me whatever you'd like, but until I see it actually happen, I'm not going to get my hopes up. But that's just me...

I don't know if I would say "miracle" for Bama to beat Auburn. In fact, I take my chances. I mean two weeks of nothing but intense pressure from the media suspensions of the school usage of a possible ineligible player, plus AU defense sucks monkey caboodle, plus Auburn being an incredibly flawed team (argubly the worst top 5 team in terms of talent and coaching ability), and I would say Alabama has a great chance at beating Auburn.

I'm not naive, I know Auburn will be the favors, but what we need for the game is for the crowd to be in it, period. I still think talent wise, we are still better then Auburn. Auburn is both the product of their schedule and some incredible luck, period.

In fact, I honestly believe Alabama will win the game. I think Alabama will get back to their "make their ^%&*( quit" mentality they had last yr, and make Auburn tap faster then Brock Lesnar. I think the Iron Bowl will be the coming out party for the team as a whole. I think Bama will play it's most complete game this year, and Cam will leave the game early due to an injury.

i'll just call you.......young.

I told everyone dogging me about how Alabama won't do anything this year because our D leaving that the worse we would do is 10-2 in the regular season. So, with that being said... ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

I guess you can all me a "Debbie Downer" too, but I have to agree with Bamabussard. Our Offense has picked up, and since AU has once of the most porous defenses in the league, I'm sure we'll put a decent number of points on the board against them. At the same time though, if the same Bama defense that played last night shows up against the barn, we're gonna get swamped. Even MSU showed that our defense is as porous as any I've seen in the SEC. The defense needs to show up big time, or the barners will prance out of BDS with big grins on their faces as they head to the SECCG and the BCSCG. JMHO

Roll Tide!

Bama will have to play well to win this game, and I hope BDS is rocking like it's never rocked before. Have feeling BDS will be slap crazy for that game, and I'm curious to see how Cam Newton & Auburn's team handles all that.

Even though I think Auburn's team is a dirty bunch, Cam/Cecil Newton are rotten to the core with all that's going on, Nick Fairley is the dirtiest of that bunch, and some people at Auburn rolled the dice by buying themselves good recruiting class. They'll be tough to beat with Cam Newton & Fairley playing, but Bama's team is capable of doing it. The question is, will Bama's team rise to the occasion?

Time will tell like it always does........ :)

:BigA: ROLL TIDE :BigA:

My take is there is no way to stop The Cam. He is going to run for big plays.
So, it will be up to our offense to out score the Camsters. Will our offense step up? I do not know, but I do know the Camsters have not beaten us yet, and I think they had better bring their lunch with them.

One of the few things I have ever agreed with Bob Davie on was last night when he said, "Alabama is a really, really good football team whose only two losses came on the road."

Roll Tide.

I'm not going to say that I agree or disagree w/ much of what you stated... I just hope we win. However, Cam has a way of 'falling' when being tackled that keeps him from injury.... so I seriously doubt he'll be injured. That is, of course, if he isn't black-balled from college football by then.

Their defense is porous as a sponge, and GA had decent success running on them. If we can get the running game going just enough to keep the clock running, we have a good shot. Their offense is going to score points, but I think we caan get some stops. After watching most of their games this year, they run about 6 or 7 plays over and over and over. That speed sweep with McCaleb is one of the biggest aspects of their offense, and no one respects because they are focused on Cam. They gobble up huge chucks of yardage with that play in every game. Our players looked they they played hard and with energy last night, and they executed well. We put up 452 yards against a defense that pretty much shut down UGA, FL, and Kentucky and even AU, although it was early in the season. We will have to play very good against them, but I believe CNS will have a plan against their offense to at least limit them. I hate shootout games, but I think we are going to have to aggressive, and score lots points of points, and I think we can against their defense.
