This article explains how our offer increases our chance of signing the Dwyer trio which includes Jacoby Brissett, Curt Maggitt, and Nick O'Leary. They have a expressed interest in going to school together. While I would love to get these guys, I think if they go to school together it's gonna be FSU. I also read somewhere that if we get Brissett, we're probably not gonna take Ely. Fine by me, from watching him play I think we're wasting a scholarship.

I have heard I thought that we just offered him recently. There are also a question whether or not Ely ends up at UA and I think we definitely want one QB in this class.

I missed that one when I was out of town earlier last week. Brissett is on the list now.

Obviously I have a little catching up to do on Brissett and Bama's chances with him. At first glance it looks like Wisconsin is in the hunt along with FSU but I have not followed his recruitment at all so far. He has taken three official visits so far to UW, ND, and LSU and if Bama gets one of his remaining two OVs they should be in the mix. There had to be some mutual interest for Bama to offer Brissett this late.

I have not heard anything about Bama not being happy with Ely's commitment. Ely seems to be firmly committed to Bama and vice-versa unless something has changed recently that I have missed. If Bama does sign Brissett I would think that would mean them taking two QBs in the 2011 class.

I read somewhere that back in mid-November he was favoring LSU and UNC. I don't know if it has changed since then, but I guess it gives you a little bit of an idea.

Wow I don't understand that comment. A lot of the time its the guys like Ely that turn out to be the best QB's. Super markets are littered with cant miss prospects.

I am not very familiar with Ely, as I haven't seen him play this year. Can you elaborate on why you are so against having him on the team?
