Link: Interesting article from Pat Forde

Man, I know I am completely biased, but that seems like a very immature, classless team. I absolutely cannot wait to play those guys again next year. My only hope is that Cam Newton comes back so he can be a part of the festivities.

If (fingers crossed) Auburn loses this game, they are going to look back on their partying as a stiff price to pay for blowing their once in a lifetime shot at a NC. I can't believe the Barn coaches are not making them take this more seriously! :rolleye2:

I just think it's hilarious how Auburn always has Alabama on their minds. No matter the case or situation. I also love how the United States hates them and if they win, I hope it is obvious to them how much our country despises them. And yes, I want Cam to come back and see our defense next season.

This is a scary close comparison to our '92 NC Game against Miami..Auburn is a lot like Miami in '92..Auburn has absolutely no respect for anyone, has thrown caution into the wind, when it comes NCAA violations like Miami did..I haven't seen a team hated Nationally as auburn is since Miami back then as well..I just have that feeling like Karma is about slap auburn back to reality..

"Outside the SEC and the southeast, we probably aren't real well-liked, because the SEC has been winning."

He certainly got that wrong -- maybe he should change that to "outside of Auburn and Lee County"

This is what sticks out the most to me:

"I would hope Alabama fans will root for us," said defensive end Michael Goggans.

Did you root for Alabama against Texas in the title game last year, Michael?

"To be 100 percent honest with you, I didn't."
The majority of my Auburn friends are the exact same way... They said some nasty, jealous things about Bama last year, yet I'm supposed to "cheer Auburn on." Hypocrites. :rolleye2:

same here, as much as I would like to root SEC and for auburn, their fans just keep getting in the way.

That theme was universal among Auburn players at Friday's media day: We'd like the Crimson Tide to support us -- but no, we didn't support them last year.

For all you fence sitting Bama fans who think it would be neat for them to win. What are you feelings now about you brethren down the road? Still think it would be cool for the SEC to win another NC. I for one would be tickled to death after these comments if the NCAA pulled an SMU on them and shut the program down.

You have NEVER heard a Bama fan make comments like that about Aubarn. And i go back 46 years of being a total Bama fan. A Bryant team member would never say that. It shows what they are made of and not something the state of Alabama should be proud of. Read the article it a GREAT example of why TRUE Bama fans will not pull for Aubarn. IMHO after these comments if you want them to win go become a Aubarn fan.

Sorry if i ticked a few of you of but Aubarns hate for us is amazing.

Part of it is the West Coast guy inside me talking, but the other part of it is that I never root for my rivals - ever, and I don't expect them to root for Alabama.

I teach at a high school in northern Alabama and I have a fair number of students that are Auburn fans. They know I graduated from Alabama and how big of a fan I am. They always got a confused look when I told I was not rooting for them to win the NC. The same question was always, "But what about the SEC?" I said that I didn't care.

But, I came up with a possible answer to the SEC question. Let's say that on Monday, Hades is officially frozen over AND Babe the pig is really flying - Auburn wins the NC. It's already tainted because of the allegations (officially they're just allegations, but I believe they'll be caught), and that'll directly taint the SEC as the cheating conference that some non-SEC people think we are (look at Alabama, LSU, South Carolina and UGA being implicated in possible agent scandals over the summer). Later, Auburn gets their NC taken away, so we'll really be tainted as a conference.

Finally, I'll end with this. I know of maybe a few Auburn fans that'll be POd/upset/angry/insert highly negative emotion if/when it becomes known publicly about the Newton's dealings and/or AU's involvement. However, most that I've seen/talked to seem to not care. As if it was worth it. Y'all know that the NCAA can hand them the death penalty, and all they'll talk about is how they beat us 28-27 and they won the NC. Nothing will shut them up.

They certainly can't know how to act like they've been there...

From the article...

Newton and other players were spotted at a club one night. They had no curfew until the latter part of this week, and even then it's an indulgent 1 a.m. Oregon, meanwhile, has had its players in the hotel by 10 every night.

As another poster said, this reminds me a lot of the Miami team from the Sugar bowl. Coach Stallings had our guys in the hotel EARLY!

Auburn Tigers stay loose during BCS title game media day - ESPN

I love the way ESPN seems to not like Auburn very much either.

I don't know if ya'll have read any of their twitter post, but i checked out scam's twitter and was a little surprised at how self centered, and childish this moron is. He sounded like a 4 year old. I saw the other day after the Sugar Bowl how he was taunting Terrell Pryor and others.

Here are just a few of his tweets.

Julio Jones, Mark Ingram and Marcell Dareus entered the draft because they don't want to lose to me again next year...

Jordan Jefferson is just a broke version of me....

The commentatators better not compare Jordan Jefferson to me

If Terrelle Pryor can beat Oregon I know damn well I can....

Andrew Luck happens to be one of the dumbest quarterbacks of all time I would have went to the NFL and took that 50 million.

ESPN....and the N is for Newton

I got 180,000 reasons why Terelle Pryor wanna be like me.

Jim Tressel looks like an educated homosexual.

Haha A picture can say a "180,000" words

I got 180,000 on Arkansas.

Did y'all see me on ESPN thanking mother nature?

Stuntin like my daddy.

The next time these NFL commentators brining my name up I'm suing for 180k!

I'll stop now before i get mad all over again...........:mad2:

I hope Oregon's hard work and dedication pays off.

GO DUCKS!!!!!!

Is this for real? He really tweets about "180,000"? There is no way he can do that, and say he didn't know. If this is legit, he's toast.

So while it might be hard for some people to root for Auburn in this championship game, it appears equally difficult to rattle the Tigers with criticism. They just don't care.

"My ultimate goal is to get ahold of that crystal ball and put my lips on it," Bynes said. "That's all that matters."

This has been the barn attitude since I can remember. "All In. It is us against the world." Some things never change.

That article just burns me up. If I were in trouble and the only way to save my life was to pull for the Barn ...I'd just have to die...NO way I'd pull for those losers. The part about them basically expecting Bama fans to pull for them and they didn't pull for us (not that it matters) is ..I don't have a word for it. People outside of this state have never understood the Hate -Hate relationship we have for each other. NOW maybe they do.
