Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)

IMHO, I think Cyrus wants to go to Auburn. I think you're right that much of it had to do with blazing his own trail. I'm sure playing time had a lot to do with it as well. I don't doubt for one minute that cheez-nip and staff were tell him that he'd probably have to RS a year at Bama but would not at Awbarn. And I doubt that CK put any thought to the logistical nightmare it was going to cause his parents. I'm sure his parents already had it planned out that both would attend Bama. They could travel in the same vehicle to the same place to watch both play. CK's decision put a huge monkey wrench into that now they are having to explain this to CK but ultimately will allow him to go where his heart lies which IMO is Auburn.

The more I think about it I think he just wanted to blaze his own trail. He's a kid. Big brother went to Alabama. Everybody expected him to go to Alabama and most likely father wanted him to go to Alabama because big brother was there and it would be best to have both kids at the same school for obvious reasons. Add to this that Cyrus took a visit the week before the announcement and just got confused. I see his commitment to Auburn as being a "buckaroo" thing to borrow a term from The Red October. His family didn't go with him to Auburn. So for him to go out on his own and commit without the family knowing or discussing him going to some other school than Alabama put them in a state of shock. Maybe that had as much to do with the obvious lack of comfort with his decision on national TV. Obviously he had not made up his mind the night before because he did not tell Arie. So the family dynamics must be pretty interesting. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. There is obviously something going on in the mind of CK and some family dynamics that made this a very bizarre deal. That should have been a happy day for Cyrus so I'm sad for him.

When's our press conference? We can have six hats out in front of the table and come up with a snazzy routine like these kids do these days in selecting our school.

He promised you a schollie only if you got me to commit. Don't leave that important piece of info out.

I think Cyrus and his family should pack a bag and go away for the weekend without telling ANYONE where they are going. The family could then make a decision without influence from one party or the other. Just let the kid be so he can make a decision which will impact his life for the next 3-4 years. Of course, I hope he signs with the Tide but if not so be it.
This. Let them be at peace and make a decision quietly.

I just hope he can find peace with his decision. The sooner the better for him so he can live his life. At this point even as a UA fan I wish him the best wherever he goes. The longer it goes on the more drama fans will create and the speculations will fly around. The fact is he might be smarter than most recruits who make a decision when they are unsure and still go through with it to only regret that decision down the road. Hopefully his decision will be the right one and work out for him. RTR

The bogus info from a fake CK Facebook account. Y'all are really getting carried away and jumping at any bit of info. I swear Facebook and Twitter is going to ruin recruiting.
I just tried to see what everyone was talking about and said it wasn't there, so I intelligently concluded that it was fake and obviously I was correct according to Andrew Bone. Sorry, if I said something I wasn't supposed to!

Right after Jedeveon Clowney's presser. We have to have everyone's attention. Need entrance music also. Hats......possibly sombreros with which teams? I say, Boise State, TCU, Utah, Hawaii, Bama and au should be the right ones. Maybe a pinada for affect.

Now we're talking. We need to have an entourage compiled of midgets from all ethnicities dressed in wind suits of the teams we're picking from. Clowney's presser and the attention CK's recruitment is getting won't hold a candle to this.

I'm to the point where I could care less where he and Clowney go. This has turned into a circus and is way to shady.

There you go. Then we can pick them up and body slam them one at a time saying no, not them until we get down to the school of our choice. I do a heck of a Rick Flair impression and each time I slam one down I can yell woooooooo! and then do the Rick Flair shuffle. What you got? This is going to turn into one heck of a youtube moment.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)

First of all, the "Facebook stalker" thing has jumped the shark long ago. This is the 21st century, not 1900. We live in the digital age, and checking a highly valued recruit on an open page is completely fair game. However, I know that the 55 year old crowd probably doesn't like that (much like many did not like those crazy phone lines, either). That isn't stalking, it is being informed. I can click on Cyrus' page as fast as I can click on Tidefans. In fact, I may point out that those of us who freak out over/bad mouth an 18 year old may be a bigger stalker than someone who checks a open facebook page. If you leave your Facebook open, it can and will be checked. Oh, by the way guys, intelligent services check your page as well if you post anything off the wall. Terrorist groups have recently targeted some people I know who are going to Iraq soon as well via Facebook, so moral of the story? Close your page if you don't want people looking at your profile.

To be completely honest, I think this whole situation has gone overboard. It has become an adult-male soap opera. Most of us on both sides really don't care what happens to Cyrus, we simply want to stick it to our rival and have a higher ranked class. I want the best for Cyrus and his family, and if he feels it is Auburn then so be it. Now, I do feel that AU has done some extremely dirty things here, most notably using our friend Walt Williams and McGregor in ways that are inappropriate.

I hope we get him, but Im not holding out hope. I do want him and his family to have peace in whatever happens.
I had been on Facebook since it started in 2004, and I think it's a bit wierd to "friend" people you don't even know. I think it's even stranger to "friend" prospects you certainly don't know.

I could go old school as well and do the Honky Tonk Man impression and each midget we don't want I could smash them across the face with a guitar.

I haven't friended anyone, his page is wide open. I really don't even check it, but my point is that information is flowing so fast now due to Twitter and Facebook that it is almost a disservice to not keep up with those services. I guess I don't see how that is considered stalking as some above say, it would be a lot different if I was posting on his wall or friending him IMO

The big difference between commenting on a recruit on a forum and going their facebook is that since I don't go on kids facebook I don't know his favorite ice cream flavor, book and what the kid in chemistry class thought of their homework. Quit being creepy. If the account is open it's still somewhat weird but not near as bad as asking to be a friend
