Game Thread: Live NFL Draft 2011 Thread

Gruden is correct, the # of drops Julio had with healthy hands through his 3 years at Alabama is what separates him from AJ Jones. If not for his combine #s I expected him to be outside of the top 10, around #15.

Anyone see what the Falcons gave up to get Julio?

WOW

FIVE draft picks. 1st, 2nd & 4th rounder this year, 2nd and 4th rounders next year. They must have really wanted him.

Well they are seriously a contender now. They now have 2 legit WR and a legit RB with the arm of Matt Ryan... I think they have just probably become one of the favorites in the NFC.

The price is pretty steep and may actually be what the Browns need to be a contender AND what the Falcons need to win a SB!

Based on Rivals Ratings:

1. Cam Newton - *****
2. Von Miller - ****
3. Marcel Dareus - *** (Would have been **** if not for grade concerns)
4. A.J. Green - *****
5. Patrick Peterson - *****
6. Julio Jones - *****
7. Aldon Smith - ***
8. Jake Locker - ****
9. Tyron Smith - *****
10. Blaine Gabbert - *****
11. J.J. Watt - ** (First real sleeper of the draft.)
12. Christian Ponder - ***
13. Nick Fairley - ***
14. Robert Quinn - ****
15. Mike Pouncey - ****

Six 5-Stars among the first 10.

Locker to Tennessee. I like his attitude and his work ethic. Don't know that I would have taken him at #8, but I guess they figured he'd be gone by the 2nd round.

Wow I thought fairley was for sure going to the titans. They hired auburn's dline coach. Guess that shows what he really thought of him.

I think he could turn out to be a really good QB, but I feel that way about Gabbert too. Not discouraged by the pick, just surprised that they picked him when they could have gone with Gabbert.

Think about this. Biggest thug in CFB this year goes to the most crime ridden, gang infested city in America. This doesn't sound good for the kids future.
